Random Rants

After the thing that was the self edge collab threads from very recent and seemingly seeing that about 50% of the new posts over the past couple weeks were these cyclic derivative non content posts it must have set me off.
My concern was that with the influx of new folks we mention, they're seeing this being accepted, and it was/is perhaps creating positive feedback that will increase these questions and follow-up posts from mods to ping ShopatIronHeart, their responses, and replies. Thus, the original question then spawns at least 3 more posts of limited use or value to the forum as a whole.
One idea could be to have a "when will it restock?" thread for these questions to get them out of the product thread. Just like having a forum rule to prohibit selling or even hinting at selling stuff in their product thread, we push that to the appropriate marketplace. Then we can choose to engage or ignore that thread. Anyway, thanks to everyone for listening.
Though I'd personally just delete all questions about sizing chart updates unless is pertains to errors or mistakes.

We have some development ongoing for this sort of thing, but better

I have just created a post here:
To save you the trouble of clicking
, here it is:
We are delighted with the interaction with customers that this forum uniquely gives us. We don't want you to stop asking us questions, because if you don’t know the answer then nothing is a stupid question. The forum is above all a resource for people to explore and educate themselves about Iron Heart products. However, one issue we do have (which actually annoys other members more than us) are repeat questions about release dates and sizing that have been answered recently in the same thread. So please try and be a good citizen and take a quick look back through the thread to see if the question you're about to ask has already been answered.
We aim to be very transparent as a company, and will publish information on release dates and sizing data as soon as we can. Our very existence relies on our ability to sell our products, we therefore do everything possible to get this information out into the public domain as early as we can (and the forum is where we always publish this sort of information first). We want our customer base to be as well-informed as possible to enable them to buy an item they want in a size that fits as soon as it becomes available.
Before we release a product, we will publish a sizing table, and before we re-release a product we will publish an updated sizing table, or if there are no changes to sizing we will tell you. And, we will do that as soon as possible, but we can never do it before we have a complete size range to hand in Gosport.
Regarding release dates, we will always publish that data as soon as we can, which typically is once we have the product physically delivered to us in Gosport. Up to that point, any date we publish will be a guesstimate. The appropriate product forum thread is where this data will be published. You can “watch” a thread as per:
You can also see known release/re-release dates by clicking on “Calendar” in the forum top menu bar. So keep an eye on the forum thread or in the calendar for the latest info - if it's not there it's because we don’t know. And asking us will not magically change that!
You can view non-seasonal future releases by navigating to: SHOP/PAST & FUTURE/FUTURE RELEASES from the Iron Heart home page
You can view future seasonal releases (in this case Fall/Winter 2025) by navigating to this page: https://ironheart.co.uk/collections/fall-winter-2025-collection
If you want to be informed when a product has been released or restocked, simply sign up for email alerts. You can do that for specific products as per:
Or you can sign up for email alerts for ALL new releases by clicking in here.
Finally, we are not perfect, and sometimes forget to do stuff or make a mistake so please feel free to call us out, and we'll fix it.

@Tago-Mago , there is a way to do it, somewhere in your personal settings iirc.
-
@Twistlock you can add additional languages to your profile. But that only works if you are logged in, which I am not

@SKT Next question is how frequently does he have fires? If it’s only occasionally, then you may need to just accept it. Only escalate the issue as much as you need to. Approach him with a beer and ask to chat. Explain your concerns and work together to come up with solutions.
-
In our suburban microdistrict it is strictly forbidden to light fires. Only barbecues. First the district manager will come and make a remark. Then the police will come.

@SKT we had a very similar problem a couple winters ago with our neighbors. They installed a new wood burning stove and chimney pipe. The smokes came straight off the pipe and flowed directly into the side of our house, would swirl off our house and build up a thick cloud of smoke in our driveway. I took video of it. You could see the swirling thick plumes just going straight from their stove pipe to our house. The result was my truck reeked of smoke inside the cab and literal smoke and smell filled our house.
I called the neighbors over to see what was happening. It was a bit uncomfortable because we like those neighbors (not our other shitty dog neighbors) and knew how excited they were for their new wood burning stove. It went on for an about 1.5 years that I’d have to keep letting them know the problem wasn’t resolving. But communicating with them finally led to them getting the chimney pipe adjusted and greatly reducing the issue. -
@Mizmazzle thanks man, that sounds very similar to our situation. We’ve spent most of today airing everything out and it still smells so it’s definitely a problem. I think I’ll just get together with him, outline the issue and see if we can come up with a solution together. That being said, he didn’t even put the fire out last night and it literally burned all night which to me is just a freaking safety issue. I’m officially entering grumpy old man territory

To add to the tired rant topic of flying…
Interesting flight home last night.
People behind us were grabbing and wrenching our headrests every time they got up or sat down, and they couldn’t seem to decide what they wanted out of their bags in the overhead compartment. This interrupted my slumber multiple times.
Person behind my wife was aggressively playing a screen tap based video game built into the back of her seat. Whoever came up and allowed the idea of embedding tap-based games with timing and urgency built into the interactions into your neighbor’s seat back is extremely stupid—this is a patently obvious outcome and problem with that decision. Passengers could just watch or listen to content, sleep, read (they should really add books and periodicals to these screens), raw dog it, or if they must have games they could design them not to encourage hammering on the seat in front of you.
One of the flight attendants was wearing a cologne that smelled like bug spray, and so much of it that it made you cough and your eyes water whenever he was coming down the aisle. This individual skipped us when delivering snacks, and skipped me when we politely summoned him back to take care of my wife and child. I just wanted his cologne out of my sinuses so I let it go.
