Currently in Houston it's 82F (28C) and 78% humidity, so it's muggy as an overcrowded Russian sauna.  This is the time of year that I hate Texas weather the most.  It is not natural to sweat this much in mid-October.

There are elk bugling all around me. I saw a bunch here when scouting in the past. 5 day season is open and I still haven't seen chit!!!

My buddy moved to Arkansas and said the deer are weak down there compared to ohio. Too hot and not enough food to bulk them up. What you do have that we don't are elk.

The farther south you go, the smaller the game. I don't think it's a food supply issue as much as a natural selection thing. Gotta have bulk to make it through winter.
