On my way home, 480km/300miles trip. 6 1/2 hours in, another 45-60 minutes to go depending on traffic. And because I’m a sensible driver I’m typing this whilst stationary in a traffic jam…

@Indigo-Alchemist Thats not what you wanna see.

In my experience, UPS is the most reliable carrier albeit far from perfect. Fedex is the worst, they regularly send my packages on a tour of the US, notifying me its out for delivery at each stop just to delay it again the following day. USPS is just slow.

                Good luck with the investigation!

@WhiskeySandwich thx mate. I‘d say DHL is the best over here in Europe right now.

@Indigo-Alchemist DHL is the worst over here in the UK. Hard to find a one size fits all solution, unfortunatley

@Alex I honestly never had a big problem with any of my IH orders in this case it is a UPS standard shipment from Spain and not a UPS Express like IH does. Within the EU DHL works really well

We have trialled just about, if not all, of the big carriers. Specifically with DHL, we trialled them a few years ago, and they were great. Then we gave them a lot of our business and real life was comprehensively worse than the trial. we had to stop using them. Then recently we decided that it was worth trialling them again, the trial went well, so we gave them all our business (but luckily, did not terminate UPS), again real life was way worse than the trial, we had to dump them again.

UPS may not be perfect, but it overall it is the last bad....

I find it infuriating when trial periods are misrepresentative of actual business dealings. companies should know better. There seems an obvious benefit to having a loyal repeat-customer base. Why then do so many businesses screw them over with stuff like this or with "new-customer only deals", rather than loyalty perks or improved/tiered service based on longer term business?

I had the same with my Phone network provider - was a customer for almost 15 years and when I came to renew my contract they expected me to pay even more than I did last year for half the benefits I had on my previous contract... mentioned a deal they had but it was only for New customers... - Hard pass, went with another provider their loss...

@Tyler in the cell provider market its almost beneficial to jump ship every time you renew. i wonder now if i go back to verizon they'll consider me a 'new customer' even though i was with them 15 years before switching to att..... I'll let you know if i do

@Tyler apparently you're back to 'new customer' status after a cooldown period of 6 months. fwiw That may vary from carrier to carrier or country to country.
