@Alex I don't mind spicy flavourful food. I do mind oblivious idiots eating smelly stuff in an enclosed space with little to no way to escape. I wouldn't take kim chi or tsatsiki as a packed lunch on a train. That's common courtesy imo. Had to google nam pla prik first tbh

I have 2 passports, both British. I do this so that if I have to lodge a passport with an embassy for any reason, I have another passport on which I can travel.

I decided that I should add an ESTA to my "new" passport for my trip to LA today. In the process of so doing, the online application told me that I already had an ESTA on my "old" passport. Brilliant, no need to continue with the application, I just need to travel on the "old" one.

Not so fucking simple. The mere act of applying for a new one, cancelled the old one, and in the bizarre and Byzantium ways of government, I was not told that it was cancelled.

Net result, no ESTA on either passport.

Paula has checked in and I am sitting here waiting to see if the application I submitted 15 mins ago will get approved in time to travel with her and Alex.

As Paula would say "Mr International Fucking Traveller"..........

Made it. The ESTA came through a minute before check-in closed. I did have to “urge” the check-in person to make some calls though……

My freaking neighbors have a horrible history with dogs. They always get Dobermans. Not a knock on the breed, but on my neighbors…their dogs have been the worst over the years. ALWAYS barking aggressively attacking the fence line when I’m in the yard working or trying to relax. One attacked a dog at the park several years back permanently crippling it. I went to their house a few years ago to talk to them about the incessant barking. The problem got 25% better, then finally stopped about a year ago. Guess the dog died.

Well, about a month ago here comes the barking again. Another Doberman. This time the barking starts at 6 am and goes ALL day long. Our bedroom is very close to the fence line and it’s loud as hell!! However this dog doesn’t seem aggressive but frantically barking and crying to be let in the house or whatever. Sounds like it’s having a panic attack. All frekking day from the wee hours of the morning…weekdays and week ends right into the start of my vacation.

Yesterday I walked over there again to talk to the old man about his barking dog. He tells me some BS about needing to live in the country if I want it to be quiet all the time and that Dobermans are designed to bark. He does agree to try and keep the dog quiet.

Well…since 6:45 this morning the poor dog is freaking out barking again as I type this out. I’m not the type to call the police over things that a neighborly conversation should remedy. But I’m losing my patience.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...
