Right on. I didn't think about that in that regard.
-
The tattoo artist that is working on my back tattoo canceled on me yesterday. He didn't even have the dignity to tell me personally…had the desk guy call and apologize for him. Apparently he realized he was sick 17 minutes before my appointment...how professional. Needless to say once this nearly $4,000 back piece is done I will take my money elsewhere.

That just sucks man…plus, gonna be kinda awkward next session knowing the guy flaked out like that.
Hoping there's not much left for him to finish what he started. -
(Obviously not me)

Hoping there's not much left for him to finish what he started. He's the shop owner so he only answers to himself…I don't think it'll be too awkward because I've known him since I was a teenager. I was just already good, drunk (my pre-tattoo ritual is to get loaded) and ready to go. Canceling 17 mins before was so lame. Going back in this Sunday at 1. Luckily the Ravens game isn't until 4:25.

@cityofdelusion Wow bad form Jack

Sounds like you guys have some history together then. Yea, just get your buzz on before you get there and hope he doesn't flake out again.
Any idea how many more sessions before its finished? -
Yup he (among others at his shop) have been tattooing me on and off for 15 or so years. Sunday should be my 9th session which if he put his mind to it could be my last but I predict I will have to go in for a tenth session later in the year. Goal is to finish it before 2021 is over.
Definitely will be looking for a new artist in the future.
-
9-10 sessions is no joke. Lots of real estate involved for sure.
From what ive seen–-its going to be pretty epic when its done -
@goosehd lets just say I empathize with you. If you’d like to talk, scream, cry, be silent with someone on the other end of the line. Let me know. Happy to be an ear. I’ve had to do the same.

Seriously
-
@mikebarhoot I'm good and truly appreciate the offer. Thank you!!
When I first started dating my wife, I would drive her to University classes on my way to work and the local radio station would play this every morning. Even 30 years later I still listen to it a few times a year.
It's stupid, but every time I listen to it, it brings a smile to my face.
Hope it does the same for you guys.

I share the feeling @goosehd … Losing a lot of people as I age. I have not had a cluster like that in a while but know that they're coming.
This life is all we know we have folks, make the most of every moment of every day, and take pains to keep yourself around for as long as possible for your people.

The number of people who cancel their order because:
"Used the wrong card" or
"Ordered by mistake" or
"Changed my mind" or
"Found it somewhere else" or
"I did not realise when I click buy now, I was actually buying it" or
"I did not mean to order 2 of the same thing" or
"I actually want to see it in person first" (did you not notice it's an online frigging shop) ::)Each time it happens, we lose 3% of the order value in non-returned credit card or PayPal processing fees.

Maybe the juice isn't worth the squeeze on this but could you add a 3% cancellation fee to any cancelled orders? It should cost at least a small fee to be an idiot and/or pain in the ass.
