OK. Not Gosport, but a mere ferry ride away and Cowes is trying to out-do Gosports utter patheticness…..I am sure you won't have been following the jaw droppingly interesting saga of the new Cowes Chain Ferry, but you may find this amusing....I am sure you can fill in the dots....

Gosport "craftsmen"
About 2 years ago, we had new gates made and installed. I am fixing up some gate automation at the moment. And noticed that one of the 6 strap hinges had been installed like this…..
The other 5 were correctly done - how on earth does anyone think that that's a good job…..(luckily it's the middle hinge of three, so the least important to have been done correctly)....

That's nothing. I was working with a window fitting team and I witnesses a window fitter fit a window the wrong way around so the handles were on the outside.

The hook should be facing up to support the strap hinge….Yeah and the screws are shite, I ordered 60 coach screws today to sort that out too
