The other 5 were correctly done - how on earth does anyone think that that's a good job…..(luckily it's the middle hinge of three, so the least important to have been done correctly)....

That's nothing. I was working with a window fitting team and I witnesses a window fitter fit a window the wrong way around so the handles were on the outside.

The hook should be facing up to support the strap hinge….Yeah and the screws are shite, I ordered 60 coach screws today to sort that out too

I feel the same way about my hometown, Jackson, Mississippi, USA that the writer of the article feels about Gos Vegas. Jackson is a morass of abject poverty, crime (per capita often among the highest murder rates in the country during my childhood), proud, steadfast ignorance, fucked-up priorities, stupidity, corruption, incompetence, self-defeat, urban decay, stagnant economy, and is in some ways a cultural vacuum (while in others, a cultural oasis: see below).

But there are some great folks there and I wouldn't trade having grown up there, with a back yard bordering woods full of creeks and trails, the ability to walk or ride to school, great food ("cosmopolitan" enough to have sushi there when I was very young), great local music, from native blues (check out this documentary available in the US for Amazon Prime streaming; I got to experience places therein like the Subway Lounge, a blues juke joint opened in the basement of the city's first black-owned hotel, before it was condemned) to a decent symphony (I believe that may be gone now). And, New Orleans–still my favorite cultural outpost--and Memphis were just a few hours drive away. And about an hour away in Delta, Louisiana, you could buy booze at age 18 (that has since changed). Oh, and you could drive at age 15, permit at 14.

A lot of good people remain there trying to stick it out because the place has its merits, chief among them its people. But is also has its problems, chief among them its people. Jackson, like the rest of my home state, in many ways can't get out of its own way and realize its nascent potential.

The way I put it is, it's a good place to be from.

                                    Think it, be it.

Regarding your description, I couldn't really say it any better. The place has a lot of issues and drives me absolutely crazy on a regular basis, even though I haven't been back in probably five years (since my parents moved to AL). My friends who stay there to contribute to the greater good… man, I just don't know how they do it, haha. I got the fuck out of there as soon as I graduated from high school.

Yet, as you said, so many good things. I'm very glad I'm from there, and very glad I'm currently not there.

I have always believed in the potential of Jackson and Mississippi, but I got tired of waiting. Perhaps I was being overly optimistic.

"LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn has told the prime minister a Gosport man wrote to him and said: ‘It's become a really unsafe town.’ Speaking during Prime Minister’s Questions today in the House of Commons, the opposition leader and Theresa May clashed over knife crime and street violence.

Mr Corbyn said: ‘Violent crime has doubled under the Tories' watch and I've had a letter from Mike in Gosport where he says, yes it's important he's got something to say: "The crime rate has run out of control because there is no police presence", adding: "It's become a really unsafe town to live in". ‘I think Mike speaks for millions of people around the country. ‘When are towns such as Gosport and others going to get the resources they need for the safer neighbourhood teams they need to tackle rising violence and crime and provide the intelligence from which arrests can be made against those who have committed those crimes?’ It comes as the police front counter service reopened at Gosport Town Hall after months of closure. The town’s police station has been shut, with neighbourhood officers now based in the council offices. Response and patrol officers reacting to 999 calls are at Fareham Reach, in Fareham Road – which is in Gosport. The town’s neighbourhood team currently has 13 officers and 15 PCSOs, plus an inspector and chief inspector. "

That said.  I see nothing (well the usual petty drug stuff and wayward supermarket trollies
