I’d say it looks exactly the same as my Oak. I also have the tobacco and it’s much lighter in color.

@pmadison95 the RJ2 shearling is my favorite jacket of all time. I don’t own an IH N1 but have tried them on…also a damn fine jacket. Since I have the RJ2 I’ve put off buying the N1. I’m sure I’ll own one one day, but I’m so in love with the RJ2 and they fill the same space, I don’t see the need to get one anytime soon. Plus the RJ2 is made of a really nice, 20oz denim that fades quite nicely. It has shearling and satin lined pockets that are hands down the absolute best pocket experience in cold temps you could imagine!!
My only two constructive points for the RJ2 (and I’ve shared them with Matt of Freenote) are that they need to use a 2 way zipper on this tank of a jacket. Also, some type of collar snap closure for when the collar is flipped up on the coldest days would be a game changer.
In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

@Mizmazzle I agree with on the two way zipper, especially on these heavy weight jackets …
One you have one with it, it’s hard to go back.

@Mizmazzle thank you for the info on your experience with the RJ-2. I am still undecided for now. I would just buy both but that seems excessive and my wife would not be impressed lol.

@Max-Power really nice Jacket! I had the Tabacco RJ-1 some years ago and the fit was amazing, I really liked the Jacket and I still think about it. I ended up selling it because it was way too warm for summer and it was not warm enough for winter, say that 0-8°C range. I'm curious how this one feels in comparison? Is it really warm? How does that 20oz canvas feel when you wear it? If you have it, how does it compare to the 21oz IH fabrics?
I have had my eye on the CD-4 over the last year but I have never found one in my size and I don't know how I feel about the shorter zip. It doesn't zip all the way to the top which might leave me with a cold neck

I haven't had the chance to wear it in really cold weather. I feel like it breathes fairy well and feels not too different from my lined leather jackets. So I guess it will be warm enough for our kind of winters with 0 to 6 degrees Celsius. With a hoodie or flannel it will certainly be fine. That goes for the blanket lined 20oz version.
The 20oz canvas is not overly stiff, but I have a few horsehide jackets in rotation so that is my benchmark. It's definitely comfortable to wear. -

Got in the 14oz slub deck pants today. I really like the baggier chino fit on these. I have two other pairs of deck pants but they’re only 10oz and they don’t hang the way I like. These hold their shape better. This fabric was only for the workers chinos before but I tried those on at Franklin & Poe last year and they’re not for dudes with big thighs. I feel like these are huge compared to all my 888s but I’ll get used to them. Might even buy a few more colorsLess is more

Definitely get them @Mizmazzle. They’re so comfy with engineer boots and just a tee. I walked a few miles in them today and they’re like sweat pants haha

Well, for the jacket itself I'm fully blown away. It's softer and less thick than I expected, maybe also less warm. The fit is fantastic with a Tee, not sure if I can layer up for winter though. Anyway, I love it and will most likely get a lighter version in spring.
Edit: I can layer an UHF underneath. Snugly but not uncomfortably.
It's the 20oz wool blanket version in tobacco, which is more olive than on the 10oz version apparently.
Hey mate! I'm currently browsing the interweb for the exact same jacket.
Maybe you can help me with your first hand experience. I'm not so sure about sizing and warmth. Do you think this is a true winter coat or more of a three season jacket?
I'm 179cm and between 75 and 80kg. I wear size large in the current lefty od and XL in the duck type 3.. In IH shirts I am usually between L and XL. Do you think I should go for size large or medium in the heavy riders jacket?
