      Thanks @Jordonf9
At the risk of sounding sacrilegious, Duck (DD or otherwise) might very well be my favourite IH fabric
Of course I'm biased because of 2526j (no other type III can touch it IMO), the 816's (king of work pants) and now this very promising and beautiful DD [emoji111]️

Post wash dimensions of tag-size 34:

        Waist  34
        FR  11.2
        RR  15.7
        Thigh  12.7
        Knee  9.3
        Hem  8.3
        Inseam  36

thats a lot of shrinkage on hem, from 9 to 8.3, or is it altered?
am considering between size 32 and 33, 33 looks good on the thigh , how much should i expect the shrinkage on hem.
        thx!!

Those measurements are the sample pair and are largely irrelevant now.

I'd expect no more than 0.2" shrinkage in the hem….

Size 36 after having them hemmed. The cuffs look sloppy and are stiff as hell, I hope they'll settle with some wear. They are super comfy and relaxed, like sweatpants (if it wasn't for the stiff material). Being onewash certainly helps to get a softer feel, but the're still rigid.

Favorite details: the back and slash pockets and the blue thread which makes this pair so much more appealing to me than the bright contrasting threads. Great pants, don't sleep on them.

@max power I got mine the day they went live and they are still stiff. I like that cardboard feeling though. So right about the understated detail. I love that too.

Given that I own both the standard 816 (navy) and Loom Breakers, I'm curious as to the actual difference between how the two fabrics are dyed - my navy 816 appear quite different to my Loom Breakers, yet they are double indigo, which I thought would make them more like the standard navy 816 in colour?

The standard navy IH-816 are a completely different fabric from the Loom Breakers, they are reactive dyed 17oz navy blue canvas.  If you in fact mean the IH-816DD then that is the same warp and the same weft as the Loom Breakers's but woven on a projectile loom not a shuttle loom, both at 18oz.

Yes, I was comparing the fabric of the standard 816 to the LB's,  but didn't realise they were that different, just assumed that they were essentially the same in terms of material and the weaving process but went through different dye processes. So how does the double indigo process differ to the reactive dye process? Is it just the permanence of the colour?

The double indigo is rope dyed…In the rope dying process, the indigo oxidises onto the surface of the yarn but does not penetrate the core.  Fading is really just the rubbing off of this oxidised layer and exposing the white core of the yarn.

In reactive dying, the dye is a coloured organic substance (in this case navy), it attaches itself to the yarn by a chemical reaction and forms a covalent bond between the molecule of the dye and the molecule of the yarn.  It is highly stable and you should be able to wash a reactive dyed garment with a white t-shirt with no ill effect.
