        I have a cute little penny with a starfish on it from Barbados I was gonna use. But it was too small and thin, I thought.

          Very nice, Mike. The button looks great. I glued a quarter to the button on a pair of gap pants when the front of the flimsy donut got bent. It worked pretty well for a while, but eventually came off. Yours should last forever with the Kevlar!

            I first purchased this Kevlar to reinforce the bar tack on that pair I sent you. I have to use diagonal cutters to cut it. My scissors aren't sharp enough. Thanks.

            I was shocked to see that this got shared on Facebook. It definitely made my day.

            I was looking in the button box for a decent button, after talking to Giles about replacing the button, and there was a penny in there. Thus, the idea sprang forth. 🙂

              Excellent job, Mike … this 'product, would be perfect for the 'Craft works - let's get creative' thread, also

                Hello,

                Can somebody suggest whom should I approach for the following repairs or alterations?

                I should have been more careful while giving the inseam length for my IH-6634. Is there anybody who will be able to stitch together the excess fabric that was chopped off from the bottom? See photos below.

                Secondly, is it possible to add a metallic button or tack where the plastic button of my IH-702 used to be?

                @Winchy : Any suggestions?

                Thanks,
                Sreeni

                    @Giles Thanks. However, I wouldn't trust the repair shops around me to handle this 6634. Railcar has said that they won't do it. Any other places I could send it to?

                        Railcar no longer does alterations on 25oz. Denim. I need a taper and hem job on my barely worn IHxBxHCx25oz. Any recommendations?

                          I was starting to get a pocket blowout on my IHXB01-25…

                          So I used a single ply of poly embroidery floss to do a preemptive repair.

                          My penny button is still going strong!

                                My cords were getting a little tight on me, so when they were buttoned up, I slipped my hands inside the waistband and attempted to stretch them a little. The button popped off and tore the fabric as it went! I was left with an "L" shaped tear about 3/4" each way.

                                I had to first repair the hole (forgot to get a picture of this) by sewing it shut with a needle and thread. Once the hole was repaired, I was able to add a leather patch which I saddle stitched onto the fabric. I salvaged the original button and riveted it back on with a heavy copper rivet. Good as new and stronger than ever! Also, I got to move the button ever so slightly to accommodate my original desire to make the waist a little bigger.
