        Personal advice: don't

Partly because @Walery-Smirnoff is correct, it's part of the patina of your boots

Partly because of the difficulty of doing so without adversely effecting and/or staining the surrounding leather of the boot. Oxidisation is by its very nature an irreversible chemical process.

You're either looking at a polish like Brasso or similar, which will be difficult to apply to small hardware with the vigorousness needed to remove this type of oxidisation without also getting on/in the leather in the local area

You could look at chemical solutions but this is likely to be even worse for the above and may even permanently damage the nearby leather

Or you could look at some of the home grown solutions like baking soda/lemon juice or vinegar/salt but again, i don't think your walking away without at least some staining - but other users may have more experience on these than i do

Ross is spot on here. I'd brush them to remove any loose oxidisation and leave it at that. It's what I do on my RWs.

while waiting for the Biltbuck 444 in black , I found these awesome Engineers from Addict Clothing. They make 3 different forms of engineer boots , one with a pretty big and bulky toebox , one with a medium and one with a flat toe .
my ones are the medium ones , called ST last.
it’s horsehide and lined with cowhide.
great overall quality with a neat triple stitching!
The leather is much softer and a little thinner compared to the 444 which leather is a beast.
The only criticism is that they don’t a half sole which I prefer, but that’s of course good for very bad weather.
Will post some more detailed pics soon, but here’s a first look into the box 🗃️

very comfy out of the box !
we’re on holiday and I’ve worn them every day without any problems.
they’re not teacore, which seems to be quite rare at that price range. nothing negative for me though.

Here are my daily drivers from Morris Boot Co, in Fort Worth Texas. It’s a really great little one-man shop.

The owner/maker takes extra pride in his stitching work. When I went in to get measured, he spent at least 30 minutes showing me all of his current work and would always fawn over the cleanliness of the stitching. He even took me back into his work area and demoed his Landis sole stitcher like a kid with his favorite toy. He had a 1” stack of veg tan that he stitched through just to show off. lol

I had him make these with American alligator. The highest grade gator skins have a very straight and consistent pattern to the scales. I wanted more character, so I found this “lower grade” skin that love and saved some cash!
