What a great 90’s line up @endo. I saw New Model Army about 20 times that year, and The Alarm were the soundtrack to my youth. Can’t go wrong with Bad Reiligion either.

Absolutely, and Stiff Little Fingers! The whole festival was mind-blowing.
But the greatest for me were the Pixies, then and still are now.
In the late 80s/early 90s that was the soundtrack of my life.

I hear you. Was born in 1973 and still remember having my mind blown when I first heard Nimrod Son at age 15. Doolittle is probably still in my top 10 albums of all time.

Same for me. How come, you saw NMA 20 times in one year. Did you work as a roadie?

Don't know if you remember, but NMA had a group of fans, tattooed, partially shaven heads, wearing Yorkshire clogs and army fatigues. They would follow them around the UK and sometimes to the rest of Europe and go to every gig. They were called "The Following". I was one of those guys and girls. I was on the 1991 Purity tour, the Small Town Tour after that, and the Love of Hopeless Causes tour a couple of years later. I saw them 40 or more times in all, but having moved to northern Norway the last time was a long time ago.

Didn't know that, but must have been good times. I think I saw NMA a few times, but definitely not that often.

In the 90s I was working as a climber in a crew of friends building open air stages for summer festivals all over Germany. Unfortunately, it wasn't all cool music, sometime shit (sorry) like Jon Bon Jovi. But there were also many great concerts, like Iggy Pop, and other punk and alternative. After the stage was finished we usually stayed for the concert or festival on duty and got back stage passes, which sometimes let to great hang-outs with the bands and their crews. It was the 90s …

I’m starting a journaling project this year to write about all the concerts I’ve been to, basically just so I don’t forget them. I moved with my dad to Dallas, TX from a small town in Missouri in the early 80’s. He had a client that did the security for Reunion Arena so we were able to get in to see a lot of shows. My first concert was David Bowie…Serious Moonlight tour in 1983 and I was 12. Freaking amazing show and kind of spoiled me for what to expect from an artist. Silver balloons dropping onto the stage during the encore is something that sticks out to me all these years later.

@SKT what a great first gig! I am a huge Bowie fan and lucky enough to have seen him several times. The SM tour was brilliant and I attended 3 of his UK shows. Great memories.

Man I’ve got a box somewhere with a lot of ticket stubs in it — not all of ‘em by any means, but a good chunk. Need to see if I can find it. I’d love to have a list of all the shows I’ve been to.

@Matt That day one lineup reminded me of the only time I saw Dave Matthew’s Band. I think it was ‘93 and it was at The Blue Note in Columbia MO. Remember Two Things tour. Second time I ever had mushrooms. It was actually an insanely good live show and his drummer was amazing.

@SKT nice! I saw a lot of the old school greats when I was pretty little — Ray Charles might've been one of em, but frankly there were a lot where I was juts too young to appreciate and/or even remember. I do remember seeing and appreciating James Brown, Little Richard, and BB King back then. Still wish I had a time machine though... would like to have seen those guys through a better educated musical lens.
