I'm looking for some sizing advice on this jacket. I wear an XL in IHSH-81 and 72, and a L in IHSH-73. I'm ~ 6'2" and usually target a 44" chest in shirts. Do I go with a L or an XL with this jacket? Thanks!

Thanks zhivago. I think I'll try XL and see what happens.

Are the arms on these massive?

Was having a look at the measurements in preparation for the new ones dropping…. and the arms seem like they could outwit my stumpy claws!

I ain't got time to bleed.

Going by the sizing and the way that IH measures and the photos of the "model" it looks that they are a touch longer than the other jackets… But it looks like you could cuff them easily enough.

would it be at all possible for a tailor to shorten the arms on the 2013 version? thinking it might be difficult wih the storm cuff and lining. but what do i know..

Navy is still confirmed to be one of 3 colours? (Just checking)

Since I'm hoping these are arriving soon, my thoughts have turned to weatherproofing, more specifically rain proofing since it's often wet in the UK in winter, and I'd like to be able to wear this jacket without needing to carry a separate waterproof shell jacket to wear on top when the heavens open.
I remember that a few folks on here had tried this, and wondered if they could provide any advice as to what does/doesn't work, and how often they need re-treating?

                                  Thanks

spray (none special!) is working very well i heard and re-treating whenever you feel the need to do so!…

I would recommend scotchgard over wax as far as that goes.

That reminds me of the deers appearing, during waxing a N1-H Deck Jacket.
                                        Seee video on page 3.

                                        Weatherproofing IHM-03 Whipcord Deck Jacket!

                                        WAX:
The N1-H Deck Jacket is lined with reprocessed wool blanket.
The interlayer is an original 1940’s US Navy issued gear feature, a cotton ‘organdy’ wax coated layer, for wind proofing.
So during wax progress, wax will not concentrate into the lining. But you have to take care of the temperature.

The IHM-03 has an additional interlining for increased wind resistance.
Before waxing , I would ask MR. G what material specs the interlining has.
I love my Babour Jackets. But have to retreat them once a year. Otherwise little holes appear in the folds.
I would prefer Fjäll Raven Wax. It´s "lighter" and not as sticky then Babour wax. It´s a piece of beeswax, normally used for a cotton/polyester Mix.

                                        SPRAY:
Granger's XT Waterproofer or Granger's Fabsil Gold (with silicone) work well on cotton.

Best for me: Nikwax Cotton Proof
Not wash it in, spray it on the wet Deck Jacket and let it dry.
Still breathable, not to see and not to smell.
