I’ve never measured them, so I can’t offer anything scientific. Just off feel, I’d say they did loosen a bit in areas that get a lot of stretch. The texture in the fabric smooths out a bit. However, the waist feels about the same as when I bought them.

FWIW, I soak and wash them regularly, then hang dry. I always buy jeans that fit great in the fitting room, then don’t worry about care instructions or shrinkage too much. I figure if they become unwearable then they just weren’t meant for me.

This was them hang drying yesterday, almost fully dry.

@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot I just picked this shirt up and it’s certainly impressive. I’m curious if you have washed it yet and if it shrank at all? I know it’s rinsed and shrinkage should be minimal but it’s the first samurai shirt I’ve owned and making sure that’s accurate before I exchange for a smaller size.

@denami I haven’t washed the new one yet, but my other indigo rope dyed Sammies have all seen the washing machine. With these, it’s always cold wash and hang dry for me - zero noticeable shrinkage 👌

@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot Thanks for the reply. I’m slightly between sizes and went with a medium, if it shrinks a little with a warm wash/dry it would be perfect but it’s always tough to make that call. All the size charts I’ve found for smalls vary so widely that it might be too small in the shoulders.

Happy to have this one in size 46, previously had a different Samurai 25oz Type I in 44, which was ultimately too tight in the shoulders/chest.
