Two of my favs from the new collection — the nep on the 10oz cotton/linen Type II is unreal!

We currently have all the SS26 samples here in the Gosport office, and most of them aren't a bad fit for me. So if anyone wants any particular items "modelled" (said in the loosest sense of the word) over the next few weeks/months, give me a shout.

@SamD how does this new 163ind type II compare with the 139ind 19oz typeII released in 2024? The 139 is a stellar piece and is my current primary Spring/Fall jacket.

@SamD I'd love to see the new 'wide' work cut in comparison to the old 'regular' work cut. Measurements for reference would also be great.

@John-Galt They both share the same design (with the Type I-style rear buckle cinch instead of side cinches), but there's a big difference in feel and drape. Being a heavier, quite stiff denim, the 139 feels more structured and holds its shape well once it's broken in. The 163 is a lot more pliable and far more breathable, offering a slightly slouchier/more casual drape akin to the lighter-weight Levi's denim versions.

I love my 139, but the cotton/linen would definitely be more wearable in the summer months. In terms of appearance, the neppy surface of the 163 adds quite a unique character, and it's likely to fade with lower contrast, being a much softer denim. Hope that's helpful!
