This forum is killing me. But it's good. Does it have a name? (not the killing, the drink)

I exactly know what you are talking about... by the way the drink is also a killer, I am not used to hard drinks that much, and it's pretty hot here today... 😵

@endo this was my jumping off point. The name is less interesting than the drink!

@FOXY Isle of Harris Gin 🤗🥰 I will never forget the beach in front of Scarista House

Beautiful island & amazing beaches, especially when the light is right!
Our little Hearach whisky cask is getting 9YO later this year…

@Indigo-Alchemist look what you’ve made me do!

Modded version of Difford’s coffee negroni:
            30ml Plymouth gin
20ml Casoni Tomaso Agnini vermouth al mallo di noce
            20ml Campari
            10ml Kahlua

@ARNC look what you’ve made me do!

Had lunch at Gasthaus Thaler once - an old closed bottle of that Vermouth is still floating around somewhere in our kitchen in Berlin or up here in Scotland…

Really?! Gasthaus Thaller is our favourite Restaurant and just 20 min away from where we live. Paula and @Giles were there with us when they visited us.

Should have used the Campari instead of the Aperol. The Kahlua is a good touch and will play around with this a bit trying different Gins and Vermouths.

@goosehd sounds like a plan. I think the bitterness of Campari is needed to balance the Kahlua, but there’s a lot of scope for playing with the other ingredients (and maybe different combos for different moods, seasons, etc.).

@ARNC Exactly my thought with the Aperol as it’s a little sweet and needs the Campari for balance. I have both but picked the Aperol…Campari will be on the next try.

@goosehd I’m going to try and come up with a coffee/Mezcal Negroni. Been drinking Mezcal Negronis as of late using Campari, Vermouth and Mezcal. I like my cocktails spirit forward so I use a 1-1-2 ratio. Figured I’d start out by adding a half ounce of the coffee liqueur and adjust from there.

don't dismiss St. George - if they still make it, though...

Mr. Black did a Rum Cask and a Mezcal Casked aged version a while back!
If you want to spice it up I'll recommend Ancho Reyes in the mix.

                                      Also fun in a negroni:

Ultimately, you can go the vintage route and try sourcing Campari from the 50's, 60's or 70's - allegedly, the formulation got changed over the decades...
