@Jett129 Hell yea. I like switching it up between bourbon and rye in an Oldie.

I might try using an aerator (meant frother) on the Campari, stirring with ice, and then floating some soda to get the best of both worlds.

                        Think it, be it.

Lacking an aetator (edit: frother) I did the shake, strained it, enjoyed a sip, and floated some hop water. Not bad! Thanks @prpx

@Mizmazzle If I ever go back to Louisville,Four Roses is a distillery I have to go to. I’ve really been enjoying their Small Batch Select. Nothing wrong with what’s in your glass. I feel like they fly under the bourbon radar and all their products are good values.

Okay first post here. Going through this thread I have two say two things first:

                                          1. I am far behind you when it comes to drinking experience

                                          2. This thread is a phenomenal basis to catch up quickly

As a Bavarian I obviously have a weak spot for beer. My favorite „hard stuff“ is either Whiskey or Gin. I know absolutely nothing about the first but am lucky to have a good friend who does and who by now understands my taste very well.

I know a little about the latter and here’s the bottle I picked up yesterday:

                                          IMG_9018.jpeg

From the first tasting at the shop it’s very citrusy but not „in your face“. Well balanced, relatively dry, „light“. The Bergamot adds an interesting facet to the citrusyness (is that a word?)

@Tago-Mago @ARNC I‘ll report more thoroughly how it goes sans and with Tonic when the occasion comes to open the bottle. Sadly haven’t tried the OG version of this but theres great comparisons online!

                                          Use it or lose it.

I only know the regular Gin Mare, which is definitely a “summer gin” for me but really good. Look forward to hearing how you get on with the Capri.

I’m maybe the opposite to you – it’s easy to forget about beer unless I’m visiting Bavaria or it’s time for the next UHHH. My excuse is I grew up in a wine-drinking household.
