I think the hem is lock stitched. Looks like it. I would assume the chain stitching would be able to be largely preserved if you shortened the hem.

      Think it, be it.

Looks like it's made for you man!

Mine already shows some indigo loss at the sleeves, now I am going to wear it as much as possible while I can due to summer comming slowly....

Washed it at 30°C 600 rpm, feels as if I got a little shrinkage as desired

@bluemantra in my experience, it feels like a denser weave. So a little warmer with more wind resistance 👌

I would say so yes. Whether it is the fabric weave, (this is serge twill), or dyeing process (this has both warp and weft dyed), or both, it feels tighter and heavier and more wind resistent than the standard shirting denim.

Good to know since I am between the 33 and the IB 14 oz as my next western and I think something little lighter would be a good addition...

This shirt is perfect as a light jacket in the summer evenings. I wear mine fishing all the time in the summer at high mountain elevations.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

Found an XL thanks to a guy on Kleinanzeigen who pointed me to @Iron-Heart-Germany who had it in stock. If you’re reading this: Thanks so much mate 😉

Fit is muuuuch better than the 2XL was. Still plenty room in the forearms but the ballooning is gone. Fit pics to follow 👍🏽

Same here. Except I’m planning on getting both the 33 and the 295-IB.

Have never owned an iron heart western cut shirt and am trying to determine proper sizing. I think I’m either small or medium, but wanted to ask here before making a decision. I’m 5’9”/150lbs. I feel like a small would work, however the shoulder measurement for a small appears narrower than what most of my shirts measure to. Any guidance would be much appreciated, thanks!

Trust the measurements! Your height and weight have very little bearing on how a shirt will fit. If the small has narrower shoulders than a shirt that fits you, then you’ll be better suited to a medium. Wabash is pretty heavy material for a shirt, so a little room is better than tight, especially in the shoulder and chest.

It bears mentioning that you should make sure to take your measurements the Iron Heart way! Shoulder is from the middle of the collar at the back to the top center of the sleeve, doubled. There’s a video.
