FIFA - Fixed It For America
-
It never should have been a red card and Claus has previously been investigated for match fixing.
-
Spains keeper has been impressive. Ronaldo had a goal if he(keeper) wasn't immediately back in position

@Tago-Mago said in Football (Soccer):
FIFA has been a corrupt dumpster fire for a long time.
Way too long.. as I know.

Crazy how TFG just can’t leave things alone, and how everything he touches gets destroyed or devalued. Two things are true: 1) FIFA is corrupt and needs more transparency and a better structured appeals process and 2) their FIFA Peace Prize toddler laureate should not have involved himself, nor should they have catered to his whims.
Still pulling for USA. It’s not the team’s fault and the whole charade is completely unfair to them.
-
@mclaincausey it's not about the team. It is about Trump boasting if the US would have won this World Cup. He would have taken all the credit for the win.

Straight from the keg of glory

Is that Oval Office gold?

Hopefully I didn’t overstep the mark with my previous cartoon post and offend anyone.
I have loved watching the US team and like Poch a lot. They were in a no win situation last night.
When leaders apply pressure to an already corrupt and subservient organisation then it doesn’t sit right. Infantino should also have been included in the image. -
Thank you @IrishHeart , I have kwept an eye on this thread, and to me all the critique is pointed at the corruption of FIFA, and the fact that a world leader has levereaged that for their countries own gain rather than political critique, which is why we have chosen to let it stand
-
@Alex that was entirely the spirit in which was intended. Thanks

I’m offended by the actions of the pissee and his counterpart, not by a cartoon. Imagine being on the horn with Infantino and claiming the call was unjust in the same labored breath where you admit you don’t know what a red card is. Such incoherence and corruption invites whatever ridicule people want to pile on.
I don’t ever expect USMNT to succeed over elite nations but this felt like a regression at least from the last time facing Belgium in an elimination, taking them into extra time and even having a lead there for a moment. Though I guess you could argue that was largely Tim Howard.
