Alex in Japan - November 2022
-
I headed out to Japan yesterday on a solo trip to spend some more time with the mills and factories that make our fabrics / clothing as part of the 'handover' process since my purchase of IHUK and also my/IHUK's increased role in the production side of things.
Pretty food start to the day in Heathrow
About 14.5 hours of this later…
…I was met with this immigration line. 3 and a bit hours later and I was through
Grabbed some sushi and walked around town until the arbitrary 3pm check in time
Am now in the hotel, it's 5pm and I'm hoping to get a few hours rest this evening. Tomorrow at 7 I'm on the train to Fukuyama when the real work starts…

Looks great, Japan seems like such a cool place to visit. Will there be some more photos of production? If possible would be cool to see.

@Alex Holy shit that's insane. where did you fly into?
immigration was pretty empty for me last weekend at Narita when I arrived about 7am. breezed through in about 10mins

Have a great trip Alex. Looking forward to photos and teases!

Yesterday was lightweight denim agent / mill meetings and tours…
7am Shinkansen from Tokyo to Fukuyama
Always sit on the right hand side of the train for the views…
No images of the meeting - lots of discussion about denim availability for the next two years and production capacity in the factories that make the clothes with it. You need to be a much better photographer than me to make those spreadsheets look interesting
Lunch pitstop for some ひつまぶし (hitsumabushi) - eel and rice, and in this case a bunch of sides too
