Y'2 Leathers….

@mecken88 if you are 42 in the chore, can I ask what size you typically are in IH shirts? Thanks!
-
@paulmtg I'm also a 42 in the chore - I'm a medium in IH shirts. I own a couple of Ls but M would have been optimum.

not an easy one to size this jacket.. It seems it has shrunken quite a bit when compared to your first pic.
I have a 44 coming but I am wondering if I should not asked TJ to send me a 46.. I am most of the times a XL in IH shirts/jackets -
@tvaillant75 yeah it ”shrunk” or formed quite significantly from being brand new.
At least in my experience. Because the slightly heavy/stiff horsehide the creases in the arms stay in place. They became shorter for sure. Even if the jacket just hanging on a hanger, the arms are slightly bend and the creases are there.
And the total length also formed to my body and kind of shrunk too. Not nearly as much as the arms. But it changed alot for me. So buying a horsehide jackets slightly snug to begin with, is potentially not the best idea.
Mine felt bigger in the beginning and form “smaller”. So it kind of became perfect for me.I often wear it open, with a denim shirt or hoodie. I can’t wear both layer under, it’s then too tight and feel restricted. But I didn’t buy it for many layering.
TJ helped a ton for me figuring out the right size for me. He is very good to elaborate on sizes, ideas and any concerns. I would totally send him a DM

@tvaillant75 You can kind of see where the arms stops at my hands. On the left picture the jacket is brand new, I think the same day I got it. And the right picture is from now. Almost a year of wear. And you can see it’s significantly shorter in the arms.

@NickD is your chore also fairly slim fit? Or did you go for a roomier fit?
Perhaps I need to size up to a 46 then…
I’m an XL in most Ironheart shirts, XXL in the overdyed. I initially thought 44 in the chore might fit, but I worry the lining might make it a bit too snug? Really tough call….

@tvaillant75 i've had a few y2 jackets and in my experience its better to get something slightly bigger - if it fits perfect on day one it will feel tighter down the road, whereas slightly oversized on day one will from around you to a comfier fit......its a lot like the heavier denim thing before and after an initial soak/wash

@mecken88 Thanks for elaborating really appreciated. I have one jacket on order and given the price it's a bit of a leap of faith to order without trying, hence the overthinking

I will reach out to TJ, and consider sizing up to a 46. As many said, better a tad larger than tighter.

@Darth-fader Thanks for weighing in, again this forum is a great source of information and I appreciate you all take the time to chip in.
