Anyone seen Y2 leathers, I think new styled “sibling” to the HR-55…?
The new jacket is called ITR-55, it looks very nice. Haven’t seen the actual measurements to compare the two jackets with each other. So I don’t know how much difference it is.
But it looks great on pictures. Seems as they have made the collar smaller on the ITR-55 which i personally like as a change. But don’t know if it’s just a visual deception on the pictures, or if that’s the case.
Either way, would be nice seeing actual measurements😊

@paulmtg I'm also a 42 in the chore - I'm a medium in IH shirts. I own a couple of Ls but M would have been optimum.

@paulmtg I’m typically a size Large in the shirts and denim jackets from Iron Heart.

My chest circumference is 102cm =40,15 inches.

I could have chosen the Y2 chore in a size 44 too if I wanted more room for layering. But for me and what I wanted the size 42 is snug and nice😊👍

not an easy one to size this jacket.. It seems it has shrunken quite a bit when compared to your first pic.
I have a 44 coming but I am wondering if I should not asked TJ to send me a 46.. I am most of the times a XL in IH shirts/jackets

@tvaillant75 yeah it ”shrunk” or formed quite significantly from being brand new.

At least in my experience. Because the slightly heavy/stiff horsehide the creases in the arms stay in place. They became shorter for sure. Even if the jacket just hanging on a hanger, the arms are slightly bend and the creases are there.
And the total length also formed to my body and kind of shrunk too. Not nearly as much as the arms. But it changed alot for me. So buying a horsehide jackets slightly snug to begin with, is potentially not the best idea.
Mine felt bigger in the beginning and form “smaller”. So it kind of became perfect for me.

I often wear it open, with a denim shirt or hoodie. I can’t wear both layer under, it’s then too tight and feel restricted. But I didn’t buy it for many layering.

TJ helped a ton for me figuring out the right size for me. He is very good to elaborate on sizes, ideas and any concerns. I would totally send him a DM🔥😎

@tvaillant75 You can kind of see where the arms stops at my hands. On the left picture the jacket is brand new, I think the same day I got it. And the right picture is from now. Almost a year of wear. And you can see it’s significantly shorter in the arms.

@NickD is your chore also fairly slim fit? Or did you go for a roomier fit?

Perhaps I need to size up to a 46 then…

I’m an XL in most Ironheart shirts, XXL in the overdyed. I initially thought 44 in the chore might fit, but I worry the lining might make it a bit too snug? Really tough call….

@paulmtg mine's a roomier fit than @mecken88's jacket. As you can see it's easy enough to layer underneath, and it's slightly longer in the arms. Fit is similar on the shoulders and I think I'm an inch or so smaller in the chest than him. Mine hasn't been worn as much either.

@tvaillant75 i've had a few y2 jackets and in my experience its better to get something slightly bigger - if it fits perfect on day one it will feel tighter down the road, whereas slightly oversized on day one will from around you to a comfier fit......its a lot like the heavier denim thing before and after an initial soak/wash

@mecken88 Thanks for elaborating really appreciated. I have one jacket on order and given the price it's a bit of a leap of faith to order without trying, hence the overthinking 🙂

I will reach out to TJ, and consider sizing up to a 46. As many said, better a tad larger than tighter.

@tvaillant75 - think I mentioned this at some point on this thread but I have both a 40 and 42 in the unlined roughout chore and both drape fine over layers, however when I had the 40 kakishibu chore the 40 was too tight to realistically layer once broken in so put an order in for a 42 for a bit more chest/shoulder movement. For reference I’m a size Large in all of my IH shirts.

Living in the northern part of Sweden we have no shop that even sell resemble jackets.. so I asked a lot of people, measured a million times. And paired that with elaborating all thoughts with TJ. He is the man, and gladly helps out the best he can!🥰

So from all the people helping me, I’m glad if I can repay in any shape or form if I can🫶

It's the chest measurement that "worry" me the most, have you seen some tightening also since buying? would you say by more than an inch?

I can cope with shorter sleeve, but I don't like feeling restricted in the chest area.
