@jerkules A+ mate. 19 leftie fades are delicious
-
@IH-GARY it’s a great denim isn’t it!? I found mine hit a sweet spot after ~6 months of wear and have kept getting better. And did you spot your old shirt? Been getting lots of wear this winter!
@JoshC thanks man, at 2 years they’ve held up really well. As my favourite pair of jeans ever I want to wear them into the ground lol. Needless to say you’ll probably be seeing them in the future when they need a repair.
@yannis couldn’t agree more, my favourite so far!
-
@jerkules fantastic pair of leftys! I am looking at these already but wearing my xhsbb right now. How do they feel once it gets warmer ?
-
@jerkules faded AF my boy. working on my first pair of 19L's this winter - great inspiration
-
@FlavourFade nice! My next heavy pair will probably be XHS in some iteration or other. I wouldn’t say the lefties are great for warm weather - wouldn’t be comfortable past 25C. They’re rigid and not so breathable, and they feel heavier than the 19oz suggests
-
@hoppy_IPA thanks man, look forward to seeing how yours turn out!
-
@jerkules thanks a lot ! So a lot less breathable than 21oz I suppose? But 25C is pretty warm for heavy denim so maybe they are okay for at least most days, won't be over 25c more than a couple weeks anyway in Germany

I still would really love a pair of these, but sadly I just couldn't find a size that'd work for me because the rear rise on this last run seemed to be shorter than usual. I really got a pronounced wedgie effect, which was just not a look I wanted to rock. @Alex I'm curious if anybody else noted this, and if maybe if there's a way to give feedback for the next run? I do know from your past comments that giving that kind of suggestion to IHJ can fall on deaf ears, but figured I'd ask.

I haven't heard this before mate, no. Maybe they shrank more than anticipated in the rise when we started washing them and the pattern was never adjusted.. I'll check it out on the next run
-
I love the lefty fabric, but it's one reason ive never ever considered them in this cut or my usual 666's. The sizing chart on both show them with relatively lower front and rear rises compared to all of their other fabrics like 18, 21, xhs, etc. Then combine that with some potential for shrinkage on the lefty fabric if it's anything like the lefty jacket i have.
Here's a quick comparison between 666/634 of the lefty vs their 21 brethern.
That half inch loss of rear rise in the 34 in particular kills them for me. I know @popvulture you're a similar'ish waist size to me so maybe this is what you've noticed.
-
@pechelman yep, that’s what I’ve noticed as well. It took me a long time to figure out that it’s the back rise that’s probably the biggest factor for me in terms of a good fit in the top block. It’s also crazy to think that just a half inch can indeed cause such a difference, but as far as I can tell, it’s true. If I have a pair of 34s with a 15” RR, it’s gonna have that riding-up effect. Now I aim for at least 15.5, ideally more like 16. My sz 34 634XHS that have been my daily drivers for the past 6 months clock in a tad below 16 and they’re perfect.
