Your Top 5
-
Twin Peaks. That one has been on my radar for a while
-
@flannel-slut Game of Thrones should be called Game of two halves. You can tell when they ran out of properly articulated source material and had to make shit up based on the broader plot lines
-
@Tago-Mago a moment of silence for what happened to GoG
-
@Matt said in Your Top 5:
I loved West Wing, terrible after Aaron Sorkin left.
Agree. But who the fuck wants to follow Sorkin.
-
Hall passes in no special order…
- Winona Ryder
- Scarlett Johansson
- Dua Lipa
- Monica Belluci
- Hailee Steinfeld
Some honorable mentions…
Wunmi Mosaku from Sinners and Lovecraft country. LOVE her.
Hunter Schafer. If I saw her at the club or whatever I wouldn’t even care that she’s trans. Life’s too short.
Cate Blanchett. All class
Gillian Anderson. X-Files.
-
I was a Winona fan, along with Alyssa Milano and Natty Portman.
Just to confirm @Matt, is this your 2025 list or the twenty-year anniversary of your 2005 list?
-
You would “love” my list -
Well, you have to share now @northsouthdenimguy!
-
Carmen Electra (pre Dennis Rodman)
Jane Fonda (Barbarella time frame)
Alessandra Ambrosio
Salma Hayek(Dusk till Dawn)
Anna Nicole Smith(Circa 1992/Guess Ad days)
I do not have this saved in “notes” on my phone

-
Well played @northsouthdenimguy by adding the vintage

I randomly saw Carmen Electra with the Pussy Cat Dolls in the Viper Room on Sunset back in the day. Dave Navarro was in the crowd, and he was even wearing a shirt!
Factoid - Christina Applegate was in the original PCD lineup.
-
I decided to do a cross categories top 5. Friends, family and pets excluded, in no particular order:
-
Zaalto universal glasses. An amazing wine glass, very good for beer as well (though the beer class is even better for pilsner). Very light, very thin, holds an imperial pint, good looking. I use them a lot.
-
Wout van Aert. Magnificent road biker, multiple times cross world champion as well. Cursed by being the same generation as Van der Poel (and Pogacar), but despite only winning one monument so far) his list of truly awesome perfomances is unique: In the 2021 Tour de France he won a mountain stage, passing Ventoux twice, the time trial and the sprint on Champs Elysee - hard to beat for versatility. And his performances supporting Vingegaard in the 22 Tour and Yates in the 25 Giro is the stuff of legends.
-
Lemons. Such a highly underrated ingredient. Usable in desserts, savory foods and drinks.
-
The Lord of the Rings. The book (in singular), not the horrible films. Best book ever written, an epic story that acknowledges the value of the mundane. And just bloody well made.
-
The game of whist. I considered chess, poker or even other games, but whist is the game that hat been most defining for me. The game is played differently across the world, we play a version withe a complex betting system, and a high risk - high reward scorning system. I would love to play bridge, but I've never really found enough friends interested i learning it properly.

@TeflonDon love letter to lemons - respect
