IHSH-296-BLK - 9oz Sateen Military CPO Shirt
-
…wow! Game changer with the black stitching. Uuuhhgg. I haven't even made a dent in breaking in my first/only CPO IHSH-292-IND Vintage Selvedge yet! ::)
...I also would love to know the weight of this beauty.

Is this shirt kind of shiny, and, if so, would that shine stay over time or eventually become duller?
-
It’s really great that the crew is posting the measurements several days before the release. It’s much more comfortable to have some time to analyze them instead of seeing them just a few minutes before the release.
Unfortunately I would have preferred a bit more length in the sleeve on this one. Looks like a great shirt, but I’m obviously biased towards black and blue CPOs.

Sateen, by it's very nature is shiny….I guess it will lose some shininess with time.....

Any estimate on the weight of this sateen?

We asked, forgot that we did not get an answer, so have asked again…

And I thought further about this. Part of the reason that sateen (which is slightly shiny) is/was used for military clothing, is that the natural sheen means that it shrugs off drizzle and light rain. Same reason that we use Sateen in our traditional M65's…..

I just got this shirt and in person it doesn't seem to be nearly as shiny as in the pictures… if this ages anything like the M65 I have then I know I will love it since my olive M65 has dulled and softened a lot...
Question on this sateen though for washing... am I correct in assuming that this will shrink more in length than width? The size XXL is great for me in the P2P and Waist but it would be nice to shrink the length a bit in the sleeves and body.

This will shrink a little bit with gentle washing, longer dimensions will shrink more than others, for example the length and the sleeve length
Does shrinkage also have to do with the direction of the weave? I always assumed that’s why more shrinkage occurs in the vertical direction.
