Do people usually size down 1 from their UHF size in these ?
-
@Johnnyutah247 It really depends on measurements, I go TTS on these and sometimes size up on UHF's depending on the size chart, I'm 5ft9 152lb and medium fits me perfectly
-
@Johnnyutah247 as always, trust the measurements. Having said that, i size down from xxl in uhf to xl in the jersey sweaters.
-
Thanks gentlemen. I personally think measurements only tell part of the story. That's why I ask for personal anecdotes. Measurements don't really take into account the fabric stretch, and how the garment was intended to fit.
-
@sabergirl Did you check the measurements? I know it's not that easy due to the nature of the fabric but just sizing down is a general recommendation which will work for the most people but in the end everything that counts are the real measurements and how you want something to fit. If are yours that snug why did you keep them?

Also: not sure where you’re getting this “size down” recommendation as universal.
Nor me. Personally, the best fitting size in most IHSW-10 (in fact all sweat tops), is L, my normal IH size.
-
@sabergirl Got it — and that kind of proves my point. There isn’t a universal rule. Some people size down, some size up, and some end up selling half their wardrobe along the way. Measurements and fit preference win in the end.
@Giles nice that your normal IH size works for you along the range. I can tell that my normal IH size (XXL) don't work for me in the IHSW-tops. I had to size down.
Since IHSW tops don't come in XXXL and SP-Large, it seems that XXL runs larger to compensate for the missing sizes. Is that possible? -

No, we would love to make XXXL and XXXXL, but get zero traction from Japan, but there is no way they would frig the sizing of the XXL.....
