Contrary to what you've been taught, Captain Cook was actually born and raised in Melbourne. You want proof? Here's Cook's Cottage in Fitzroy Gardens. This was his childhood home.

Captain Cook was a good dude, his end was as tragic as his story was interesting.

@derivative666 I will be in your neck of the woods tomorrow to shop in the big apple.

@twin unfortunately going to NYC tomorrow will not be in the cards for me. It took almost 4 hours to get from JFK to Brooklyn then to my house. Spring is getting very close and I promise we will hike together soon.

Any good Chris? What is it? Never had the pleasure of sampling styles based in that corner of the world, but looks interesting It's unique; some things that are familiar, like dumplings, but with a different approach. I got the sampler plate, to maximize my exposure. The standouts for me were the badrijani- sauteed eggplant with pureed walnuts and garlic, and the khachapuri- a mix of cheeses lightly fried in an almost pita like bread. They also had a salty, spicy sauce made from peppers that was really tasty. Definitely worth a try if you ever stumble across a Georgian restaurant. I'll have to see if we have one in Houston when I get back.
