Thrift Store Scores

[goosehd]

@Inorganic can you put a variable motor speed control on the current motor? Some motors have the ability and cheaper than trying to find another motor.

[Inorganic]

@goosehd good question. The current setup is with a clutch motor: fast stitches ~1k-2k/min and with reasonable torque. I plan to remove that and in its place install what's called a 'servo motor' which has variable speed control, more torque and much much slower, down to 1stitch a second or less in some models. I was so surprised to see that all of the machines on the Langlitz floor were clutch (fast) motors, I wonder what set up Iron Heart has for their machines.

Can’t believe it but I picked up this Good Art Fin Link bracelet at a Pawnshop off Riverside Ave in Austin and there was a hobo passed out 5’ from the front door on behalf of @Bomar1981 for $163:

[GraemeE]

@Clint_D that is one hell of a score

[sabergirl]

Dang, @Clint_D how did you know it was there?! Spidey sense?

[Inorganic]

@Clint_D holy hell!!

[Clint_D]

My buddy Mark had this AI ad pop up on marketplace and the Pawn shop was only a few miles from me!

[GraemeE]

I assume they were just selling it for the melt value of the silver?

[Clint_D]

Spot price per gram is like $2 and it's 28 grams total so not too terribly far off!

What a killer find!

[sabergirl]

That’s bonkers, man. What a score!
