My bit of fun! A Caterham 620. Running 355bhp, weighs 600kg, 0-60 in 2.7seconds. But to be honest it’s all about the cornering speed!

No offense (well maybe a little) but Porsche, especially the more ostentatious/obnoxious versions, just screams midlife crisis. Possibly a post for unpopular opinions

I don’t necessarily disagree. I’ve had a handful of Porsches, some when I was younger and then a couple more when I got separated/divorced in my 40s, so I’m probably not helping the stereotype 😂. But I’ve always been a Porsche guy. My dad had one when I was growing up, along with some other sports cars, and I used to read Road & Track cover to cover every time it showed up in the mail back in the ’80s.

But to your point, I think you can say that about pretty much all of them. Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, whatever. You see some guy in his 40s, 50s or 60s in a loud sports car, especially a convertible, and “midlife crisis” is probably the first joke somebody makes. Sometimes the guy just finally has the money to buy the car he wanted when he was 16.

Edit: i’m not a fan of giant wings or spoilers. Although, you can’t beat a whale tail on a 930

They were both in London, so wondering if the Porsche was driven over from Kuwait. With that wing I don't think any route would be a problem.

Would the GT3 RS be part of the plethora of supercars shipped over from the Middle East just to be driven around central London in totally obnoxious manner?

Here's what Claude said on the matter.

Yes — this is actually a well-known phenomenon called "Supercar Season."

                                      How it works
Wealthy visitors, mostly from the Gulf states (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait), fly their supercars into London every summer, usually via air freight rather than driving or sea shipping. The term began in London and became synonymous with wealthy Middle Eastern visitors showcasing their supercars in affluent neighborhoods like Knightsbridge and Kensington. Owners typically visit during June, July and August specifically to escape the summer heat back home, transporting their cars along with them, which is why so many cars with Middle Eastern plates show up on London streets each summer.

How the cars actually get there
There's a whole industry of car transport specialists who work with airlines — particularly Middle East-based carriers — to fly these vehicles over, essentially letting favorite cars "follow" their owners around the globe. It isn't cheap: one owner mentioned it cost him £28,000 to fly his Porsche from Dubai to London on Emirates — more than the price of a brand-new Volkswagen Golf.

                                      The scale and reaction
Cars with plates from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait are regularly spotted, with Knightsbridge — home to Qatar-owned Harrods — a particular hotspot. It's spawned its own car-spotting subculture (nicknamed the "Carparrazzi") who film the cars for social media, but it's also generated real friction with residents over noise and illegal parking, and even inspired a Channel 4 documentary, Millionaire Boy Racers.

So if you've seen a gold-wrapped Lamborghini with Gulf plates cruising past Harrods in July, that's exactly this — and yes, it very likely arrived by plane rather than by road or sea.
