IHM-35-OLV - Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket - Olive

The N1 deck jacket was first issued to US Navy servicemen in the early 1940s. Much copied in the years since, this military classic has evolved to become a true style icon in its own right. The Iron Heart take on the N1 remains pretty true to those original jackets — “if it ain't broke, don't fix it” — constructed with a highly durable whipcord outer shell and a high-density lining blended from sheep and alpaca wool.

Of course, we’ve also given the original design a few innovative upgrades, most notably a hidden chino interlining to enhance wind resistance and a heavy-duty two-way zipper concealed beneath the traditional buttoned storm placket. This creates a formidable winter jacket, seamlessly blending authentic WW2-era styling with modern performance and functionality. The colour shown is a new shade of olive for Fall/Winter ‘26, paired with a lighter, gingery-brown alpaca lining.

@AdamJ Thanks. Yeah I checked the n1 before but it not having any mention of insulated sleeves (just quilted) assumed they were not insulated. That's a deal breaker in winter jacket for me.

I think i recall them saying in the reaveal the N1s have an extra layer this go round?

@moskiitto @WhiskeySandwich Apologies for any confusion caused — to clear things up, the construction of the deck jackets has not changed from previous models. The extra layer mentioned in the reveal video is the interlining between the whipcord and wool, added to increase wind resistance. This isn't a new addition and shouldn’t be confused with the sleeve lining discussed here.

I tweaked the info for this season’s models, as the quilted lining in the sleeves is (and always has been) lightly padded. This does help with heat retention — but saying it offers the same level of insulation as the alpaca wool would probably be misleading, so I’ve now updated the product details accordingly. Thanks for the spot!

Any remote sense of when these guys are gonna drop? I'm likely moving to somewhere that it will actually be useful to have a winter jacket this year but gotta plan my budget!

As there are many variables in production, IH has not been releasing dates as they are often incorrect upsetting people when they don’t come in on those predicted dates.

IHUK may be able to give you a general idea, which is why I tagged them

@schraiber These will likely be released towards the end of the year; however, as @goosehd mentioned, dates can be sporadic, so we generally update the thread once we have a solid date.
