@cyclops it is never to crazy for another pair of heavyweights!
-
@KongPrecision thanks for the info! Reason I’m ask is because where I got them they had 2 options raw or one wash and I had purchased the raw pair. Is the fit more like a 634 or a slim straight 666?
-
@cyclops @warriors22 In terms of fit, these are definitely closest to a 634 cut (which is my go-to IH cut). It's advertised as a "regular straight" and it feels true to that. My pair is definitely roomier in the top block than 666.
In case it's helpful, my IH sizing is 50/50 between 32 and 33 (depending on luck of the measurements). I tried both sizes with the Samurai and went with 33 - the 32 was technically possible to get into but it was crazy tight on my waist and I'm not that aggressive with my fits haha.
-
@KongPrecision Just curious - where did you end up buying in Japan? Osaka Samurai flagship?
-
@phoenixinflight I stumbled on the 25oz at Americaya 610 in Ueno (Tokyo) nearly 3 weeks ago. Lucky for me, they happened to have great stock in every size and it was an easy purchase. I also made it to the Osaka flagship about a week later (amazing store) and noticed that the most popular sizes were already gone by that point.
-
@KongPrecision nice. Americaya is a great shop and a little more 'hidden' than the Hinoya flagship, though I think they are affiliated. Stoked it was an easy pickup for you. Agreed on the Osaka HQ. Beautiful store and the staff are very friendly. Much like IH, seeing the Samurai fabrics in person can be pretty mind blowing.

I’ll add that to my list of places to visit now too.
-
@Rustygate37 Definitely. They also have a good selection of Japanese domestic heritage brands that you see either none or less of outside of the country. When are you going? If your itinerary includes Ueno to visit Hinoya and Americaya 610, definitely make time to go out to IH HQ in Hachioji if you haven't already. The trek is worth it and I personally would even stay out there to get out of the inner Tokyo chaos.

@phoenixinflight hey mate
I appreciate the info, thank you.
I’ll be there at the end of the year and am dead keen to get a few more brands under my belt for less -
@Rustygate37 nice one! DM me if you need any more info on any logistics, itinerary or shops before you visit
-
@phoenixinflight I’ll take you up on that, thank you Sir.
