@jpvisual I know man, but I was very happy with the same advice from this thread before buying mine.
In my experience they shrunk less than I thought, except the inseam which was dramatic.
You will fight them post soak, but it will be worth it. Big difference on day 10! I think your fit looks as good as it could be!
-
@Sunnergren thanks man! They are still very wet, but the thigh shrunk .6 inches. That's too much. I'm hoping that measurement changes when it is fully dried or at least when I wear them. I remember my 526L measurements were more drastic vs when they dried it was much less.
-
@jpvisual if its still damp, i gently tug and stretch it out a bit whilst its still drying. Just do this evenly across the waist. I found that to help a little...
-
@jpvisual you could do a cold wash they should be fine. If you feel they need to shrink more you can always give them a hot wash. I had to do a hot wash with my pair after the cold wash because they didn't shrink enough for me on the first go around.

Getting some fresh air -
Amazing wear on your pair of UHR’s and XHSib’s @Oaktavia you planning to continue the journey on these 2 after your summer project in the 16ozer’s? Still lots of life left with the heavyweights. Would be awesome to see them worn till they’re unwearable

-
@RoxRocks86 I'm definitely going to continue wearing them, for sure. I just wanted to get them to a reasonable number of wears before I pause them. 684 for the summer, Loom Breakers in the fall. From there, I want to start wearing PIH7ANN and 634 21oz LHT I have. The Loom Breakers are very fast fading, so hopefully I can move to the two 21oz sooner in 2027. Oh, and since I will be focusing primarily on one pair at a time from here on out, I will also start wearing my 805s a couple times a week indefinitely. Which I know sounds contradictory, LOL.
-
@Sunnergren yeah all good. I'm really happy with how these turned out!

-
@jpvisual Fantastic! Not to much shrinkage? The fit looks spot on! With that fit and this fabric it will be a fading rocket. Looking forward to seeing your journey

-
@Sunnergren thanks! They ended up shrinking as stated on the website, pretty exact actually. They feel great. Yeah totally stoked on these. And thanks IH crew for pulling this pair for me.

-
@Oaktavia another level man, has to be the best looking UHRs I’ve seen to date. I’m at 57 today, I promise I will update at 300 and I happy if they look 50% like yours.
-
@Oaktavia wow! This makes me want to start a new pair of UHR

Dude they totally will! There is no secret, just wear them lot and wash sparingly at first.

Dude haha, they made me want to start a new pair too!

-
@Oaktavia right on! I know you’ve got a long list of denims you want to get started & excited to watch those as well! Glad you’re still planning to continue these at some point. I’ll def be watching the threads on the other denim you have in the line up which are pure bangers! Thank you for your transparent, continual, & reliable updates. Your evo posts are the life of these forums. Gives hope and potential for us casual denim wearers lol.

The best fades I have produced thus far in my long, winding denim journey.
Edit: weird, these are screen shots (they upload here much faster) and the colors are off. They are too green on here but you get the idea, the contrast is accurate. Wonder if there is a way around that. Looks like they are just oversaturated a tad, more dull blue IRL.
-
@RoxRocks86 oh gorsh, we all know you produce some of the best fade photos on the forum! You inspired me first, haha. Anyway 684 tiger time!

I managed to snag a pair of these, they've been on my goal list for some time and I was lucky to find a pair in stock around my size here in Aus! I was sad to hear that the UHR will no longer be made, apparently due to some factory issues if I understand correctly, so I made the jump and bought a pair. I was considering holding out for the 25oz XHS instead but I thought that might be a bit too heavy seeing as my daily jeans are around 15-16oz (and I'm unsure when they will be coming back for sale).
How's the shrinkage been from everyone else? I purchased a 34" which is according to the unwashed size chart is a little too big for me. I have done one initial hot soak in water around 35C for about 30mins. I tried them on when they were damp and they are a little roomy around the waist and hips. I have about 6hrs of wear in them so far as of these photos and already they are starting to form to my body. The denim is incredibly stiff, it's unreal! I thought my Asphalt 20oz were tough but these are on another level, the texture however is very soft and feels wonderful. I can't wait to break these in, although atm I need to wear a belt. I'm hoping that with more wear and some loving abuse they will conform a little and sit better on my waist and hips, the denim.
The inseam shrunk by about an inch and the waist by roughly 3/4 of an inch. I was hoping for a little more shrinkage in the waist but it's definitely close enough. I was surprised the inseam didn't shrink more but that may have been to me wearing the jeans in the hot bath. I like a little extra for some stacks and horse riding so this is a win in my books.
Excuse the poor photo quality, my phone's camera is partially broken so it doesn't pick up detail very well. I will take more photos as I get more wear in the coming weeks.
I finally have my first pair if Iron heart denim after months of saving and I can't wait for the fades!Cheers

@AskAxel did you put them in the wash after you soaked them? If not you should do that. It's the agitation that will shrink them more. I soaked at 35c (I read later 30c is better to avoid marbling, but mine were fine) for an hour, then washed delicate no spin or detergent. They shrunk exactly the amount stated on the website. 2 inches in length, 1 inch in the waist, .5 inches in the thigh.
