Generally loving these jeans, although there is an aesthetic thing that’s bugging me a little: the rear pockets are noticeably wider apart than on my other pairs of 634. Would that have been done deliberately, or is it just the way they came out? It creates a bit of an optical illusion that makes the arse appear wider - dunno if that’s what i need!

If there is indeed a difference, then it was not done deliberately. The 634 pattern is just duped for new denims. That said, Tom san will have done some jiggery pokery to take into account the shrinkage of the UHR, and got the math wrong. Stranger things have happened.....

Cheers for that, Giles. I suspect it’s one of those things that “normal” people wouldn’t notice, and as such I should stop thinking about it. After all, the difference is only a centimetre or so.
              Beautiful jeans….

@Denimhead-0 Glad you got a pair of these, I felt the need to "double up" on the UHR denim and got both 888 and 634 too 😃

I stuffed my jeans up with some prominent marbling due to impatience and being distracted. Now they are my yard jeans. My thinking is that the uneven streaks will virtually disappear after some decent fading from heavy usage.

Did a warm soak and then an agitated warm/gentle cycle. Waist feels pretty spot on. Wearing with belt.

If I eventually want to wear these with a floating cuff what is the best way to deal with the bottoms before I hem them during walks for example. I would like to break them in a lot before cutting anything off but I dont want to make any choices that will compromise them or create unwanted scars
                        while doing that.

@BigLeeMarvinFan merged your topic with the main 634S-UHR thread. After you have all of the shrink out of the denim, cuff them to the desired length or leave them uncuffed to create stacks. The stacks will relax once they are hemmed to the appropriate length. It’s really your choice on what you want to do.

Thank you! I did a very hot soak and then a wash cycle so i think they have shrunk. Should I be breaking them in with stacks or cuffs if i am unsure if i want to cut off any material? I am wanting a floating cuff.
                            Appreciate the direction.
