          @ChrisC that's a manual Espresso lever press.

          ROK has been around for a decade or so, probably most similar to Cafelat Robot in looks and not unlike Flair.
          purely manual, you use hot water to pre-warm the unit. a few aftermarket upgrades and you're ready to go.
          grinding is manual in our house, too...

            It's a lovely bit of design - I've got an entry-level bean to cup at home and although it makes good coffee it certainly isn't going to win any design awards. I looked into getting a manual grinder back when I was using a moka pot/Aeropress, but I must admit I do like being able to wake up, jab two buttons, and have a machine pour espresso into me without lifting a finger

              Right, manual grinding and pressing will cost a lot of time and patience - making 2 or 3 shots in short succession is not recommended.

              On our little isle we don't have the power/amp to run a "proper" machine. not to mention the cost factor...

                  I don't do coffee art, but is that a scythe and should I be worried?!

                      Hi,

                      I am making the 100,000 mile journey from the wastelands of Scotland down to London this weekend for leisure not business.
                      Got some stuff planned, going to see Mike D of Beastie Boys at 26 Leake Street amongst other things - and this may sound pretentious – but can anyone recommend what they think is seriously the best coffee place in the general close vicinity of waterloo/maybe embankment/Westminster type area.

                      Not a shack somewhere, want to sit in somewhere if possible. Some overpriced/artisan/coughed up by an Elephant type thing. Maybe some cakes or bakes at same time.

                      Can’t be arsed finding somewhere that’s going to be sh*t so honestly if you can make it any easier for me then I will be eternally grateful.
                      I will be wearing my new 634’s while doing so if that sways you lol.

                            @Chap Thanks for this. Much appreciated. I've just went down the rabbit hole of freeze dried flat whites and origami drippers. Looks right up my street. Will stick on my to do list. Thanks again, i really appreciate this.
