IHSH-443-IND - 7oz Cotton Linen Chambray Work Shirt - Indigo

@Cymro what a great look from top to bottom!
-
@Oaktavia Much appreciated. I guess the linen content gives this some tea towel energy so I can definitely picture drying ones hands on it, haha. I've got one of these on the way so I'm excited! Will be great to have a fade project for warmer weather and I think this will be perfect for the hot/humid summers in Australia. Can't wait to see the fabric in person. I generally backpack with a 100% linen towel. Incredibly strong and great antibacterial properties too! Thanks to everybody for sharing photos - that pushed me over the line as initially I wasn't too drawn to anything in the SS26 collection.
-
@phoenixinflight right on dude, let us know what you think!
-
@jimcord thank you

Finally got to wear mine last night. Went without a shirt underneath, felt like linen more than cotton on the skin with the initial crisp/stiffness of linen. Wife said it looked like all the other shirts I owned, only to agree I didn’t have anything like it when she went through the closet. Was comfortable in the 80 degree heat of Atlanta in it
Anyone know how rolling sleeves will impact fading etc?

I tried and i tried and i tried…….to not give in to this shirt! Unfortunately, weakness is real and IH is strong……and Self Edge had a xxl for and a xl for one of the boys. That indigo is so dark……the thread is a unique color and I wonder if it will come into play in time. I cannot wait to wear it! Iron Heart, you bastards……..you win once again!:)
-
@Giles nice to be back in the family……:)
-
I washed the shirt right after getting it, it shrunk considerably, which I like, because now it has the similar sizing as my other XXL IH shirts. I wore it several times, it feels great, looking forward to see how it fades
Will also replace one of the buttons with Good Art one

I just did a warm soak on mine. It’s hanging in front of the fan. I hope it doesn’t shrink too much but the arms were just a tad long…
-
@northsouthdenimguy please let us know if you notice anything
-
@northsouthdenimguy that’s mine too. Xxl is great in top block but arms a little too long. Let me know how yours changes please. I’ve worn everyday to work last two weeks. The creases brought the sleeves up some but not enough.
-
Did anyone throw some whites in the washer with it to see what indigo they pick up? I always do that with the tricotine stuff from UES to see what the excess dye can make!

@SKT said in IHSH-443-IND - 7oz Cotton Linen Chambray Work Shirt - Indigo:
I’ve washed mine twice and thought it had remarkably little shrink. I will say I did mine of delicate so that may be a factor
I washed on a delicate cycle with no spinning. This is the 3rd IH shirt/vest item I got this season, which shrinks considerably after the 1st wash. I am not complaining, they were initially somewhat roomy, compared to other XXL shirts I have, now these 3 fit me perfectly. I am writing all this just to let those who wonder if they should size down from their usual IH size: don't, it will shrink to usual measurements.
-
After the warm soak and hang dry, I feel like it tightened up just a bit. I just don’t recall the exact measurements before. I do have the feeling though if I threw it in the dryer it would’ve shrunk up more. It just kind of has that feel to it, but I could be wrong. I don’t know…
It does feel slightly more fitted now. Sleeves are still long, but they shrunk up just a bit.
Overall, I really like the fit, so I don’t need to do much to it. It’d just be nice to figure out if this is one I can machine wash and throw in the dryer without it ending up fitting like a baby tee afterward.
Also worth noting, I iron everything after it’s hang dried or even machine dried, so things tend to flatten back out a bit. This one was super crunchy and wrinkled before pressing.
-
After a few wears, washed mine for the first time today. As I really liked the fit , was a bit wary reading about some having shrinkage.
30 C delicate wash (shortest cycle I have) with the minimal spin. Drying on hanger.
Pre wash:
Shoulder 43
Length 71
Chest 52
Waist 49
Opening 50
Sleeve 62Post Wash:
Shoulder 43
Length 70
Chest 51.5
Waist 48.5
Opening 50
Sleeve 61.5Admittedly I did ‘stretch’ it out when damp, (especially the sleeves as length was just right but wouldn’t want to be any shorter), both to get rid of the wrinkles and make ironing easier and to retain the dimensions.
-
@northsouthdenimguy do you use a cool iron or ‘normal’ cotton setting?
-
I always have it on the hottest setting(cotton/linen)with continuous steam, note this is a relatively inexpensive “Hamilton Beach” iron.
I used to have one of these back in the day, late 2000s early 2010’s? I wore it out…I was an ironing machine!
