IH-555S-SBG - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Cut Jeans - Superblack (Fades To Grey)
-
@beef_bonanza sorry, newb question. What is a tonal arc?
-
@chillmonroe Usually the arcs on the back pockets are stitched in a different coloured yarn than the denim (contrast). The black denims and the original 555 21oz have them in the same colour making them tonal.
-
@don_pipone ah. Thanks!
-
@don_pipone I would not go for 555 on new jeans either anymore. However, I have to cope with them as they are not totally worn out yet. 10 years ago when I bought them, they could not be skinny enough. Now I have to pay the bill:-)
And somehow especially on black jeans I still like the slim cut for a change. Certainly not for everyday -
@beef_bonanza Wow they are fantastic.
-
@beef_bonanza haha, I can relate with the black denim. Somehow I also prefer them on the slimmer side. Probably it‘s some kind of 80s/90s Slash-like skinny ripped black jeans thing

-
@don_pipone I cannot deny, that I had similar pictures in my head when typing this

-
@don_pipone What about just removing arcs? At least brand new they look quite similar. But not sure how they fade.
See here, thought these were tonal arc at first.

@moskiitto the point, @beef_bonanza and I were referring to is that tonal arcs, whilst „invisible“ in the beginning, will reveal and become more prominent over time, as the dye of the surrounding denim is fading away slowly. Basically, you start with „no“ arcs but end up with. That specific look is what we and probably others are after.

@don_pipone I see makes sense, yeah they do look cool once faded. This makes me appreciate them in my 888-xhsib, thanks.
