Really curious to understand how this would patina and scuff up though; I don't know what colour to picture peeping through. Out of pure curiosity, any pictures from testing the sample that was kicking around the office last year?

Very cool indeed. I suppose the pull tab can give you a bit of an idea @EdH, but still a bit hard to imagine how the whole piece will age over time.
