IH-888-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo

This pair of denim is not the easiest to crack honestly. I think I got spoiled since my first real fade project were my UHR’s.. those things faded so quick that I have to remind myself I’m not doing anything wrong with this pair lol.
First two pics: 210 days of wear. Pre-2nd wash.

Last two pics: Day 212 of wear. Post-2nd wash.

Hi everyone --
Newbie here.
I'm puzzling over the sizing of the IH-888-XHS 25 oz. -- in relation to the 888's that are sanforized and one-washed.
Did you go with the same size, or drop down a size (factoring in a shrink from initial soak/wash, then stretching back)?
I'm size 31 in the IH-888S-142, IH-888S-142bb, and IH-888S-21 -- all perfect fits. The measurements for size 30 in the XHS look like a close dimensional match to those, whereas size 31 looks like it would be a tad too loose.
Re-reading the 1,132+ postings here (including related questions/answers from Nashville60, Yannis, edubz, popvulture, schraiber) and elsewhere on the interwebs, and still muddled -- and would appreciate your advices and suggestions.
Thanks!

@eiderdown I think one of the biggest factors are that the waist dims can change by each batch. My 888 142bb, 21od, XHS, and XHS IB are all size 36 but they vary in actual waist measurements. They are all within a range that I can work with though. I'd say knowing your true waist and comparing a pair of jeans your currently own are a good starting point.

@eiderdown i would say think measurements, not tag numbers. So if you have all those jeans, measure it the IH way, then have an educated guess as to where you would feel tight but comfortable and aim for that. Just think about measurements, almost ignore the tag number...

@eiderdown so its not an exact science, but then i would be asking myself whether after first soak and agitation, with some shrinkage whether i would fit into the smaller tag size, but knowing it will stretch back out. So it might go from 30.5 to say 30 then back to the original 30.50 or more after a few wears.
The larger tag size sounds like you will fit into it without issue but then need to think if you would be ok with it looser than the other tag.
At least that was my experience with the 666xhs. At that thickness and at the start when its a bit stiff, you need to make educated guesses as to what you think you can squeeze into and get away with without losing too many fingers trying to button up. I think if you can button up the top button then you are good.
