@cyclops Cutting weight to fit your denim, gotta respect it!

Yeah you could just wear them in a bath honestly, ideally if it's just a "somewhat warm" wash, the waist will stretch back out too...

That looks like plenty of room in the waist, although if the thighs etc are too tight might be another issue, maybe @Matt can chime in he's an OG

If you think youll keep them then I’d stick to cold water for soaking or washing. You shouldn’t get an inch if any with cold water.

I wouldn’t worry too much about wearing them for soaking unless that’s something you’re excited about. A quick cold soak in the tub to remove the starch and excess indigo then aor dry outside for a bit and you’ll be squared away. They’ll likely tighten up after the soak but will go back to where you have them now quickly.

@Matt just for clarification, it shrinks when it gets wet right. So i was thinking if i wore it in the tub it would shrink to fit. Im hoping once i take it off wet it wont shrink too much further? Is that logical? Ive seen people on youtube soak for 45 to 1 hour. Is that not necessarily needed?

@cyclops I did it with my first pair amongst the excitement, then quickly realised it's just a massive pain in the arse for not much gain. Had basically the exact same results with doing it the normal way

The devil is in the detail..

@cyclops The waist will stretch back out to where it started very quickly, and then some, even if you wash them hot in my experince.

@cyclops. Yes they shrink with water, but the temperature of the water matters alot. Doing what @Matt suggested soaking them in cold water will yield very little shrinkage if any and they will go right back where they are now within an hour of wear. Wearing them while soaking is a pain in the arse and unnecessary unless you really like the experience.

Edit: soaked it today! Dried it and everything buttons up! You guys were right, no need to do the getting in the tub thing! Once again thanks everyone for your input 🙂

When did IH switch from sewn-in cloth placards/ hanger tags on the pocket to the paper ones we see today on the IH-666-XHS - 25ox? Recently acquired this pair that still has ones sewn in and trying to date them. Thanks for any input.

I own too many pairs of jeans.

                                      Considering a used pair of 25oz 666’s.
They have been washed several times and while it’s not what i would ever do, I’m curious what the groups collective experience has been with this denim when washed a bit.

Does it not fade anymore AT ALL??
Essentially, what would i be in for?
Denim looks not broken in. Would it always be that way because it doesn’t that crunchy break in period?

                                      Thanks for all help?

They will continue to fade. They might not continue to stretch depending on the relative size of you vs previous owner but they will continue to break to the way you wear them

6 or so months on these now, and loving them so far. My first go with 25oz. Wore the UHR’s for a year last go, and doing the same with these. They’ve become pretty comfy! Also loving my IH-526J-142ib. It’s become the jacket I grab the most through spring & summer. But doesn’t get a ton of wear in the American South. Just when it’s too damn cold in the office! 😎
