I love how we were all here just waiting patiently for months together and we all get to celebrate together now haha. I look forward to seeing how you guys hammer yours.
It will be tough to hold on to my IIY5 pair and not jump into this right away!
-
Lots of sizes sold out now. Very popular.
-
- Y'all making me feel rather laaaaarrrgggeee
-
Got my 36, will send it back for hemming after confirming it feels right since this is my first pair of 888
-
@Ikeaparty How much does it cost to send back for hemming?
-
@michael.rose0107 it’s $30 to ship it back to them if I’m not mistaken. I just don’t know if you have to pay again to get them shipped back to you making it a $60 hole.
-
@worn2fade Thanks!
-
Yeah I think it was $40 CAD, and then just leave em there till you order something else and you won't have to pay to get them back, with spring summer releases starting you'll get them back in no time
-
@Alex Sorry for asking, but what does it means "They are woven with an indigo warp that will fade and a reactive-dyed black weft that won't fade." ?
And should i go one size up, because of shrink process?
Many thanks
-
@Luke_is_back I’m not Alex (obviously) but for general dyeing, weaving, other terminology, this should get you up to speed.
-
@Luke_is_back The warp is the outside of the jeans, the weft is the inside, inside wont fade...

@Luke_is_back see below, taken from the product page:

If you scroll through this thread or the other XHSib threads you will find plenty of photos documenting the evolution of the fades.
As far as sizing goes, if you already own a pair of 888, measure them using this guide:
https://ironheart.co.uk/pages/how-we-measure-bottoms
Then compare those measurements to the size chart to determine which tag size is closest to your pair.
-
@Tago-Mago I own 777/ 19oz Left Hand in size 32, which is tight, im thinking going for 33 in 888, what do you think?
-
@Luke_is_back 777 and 888 are very different cuts, so I wouldn’t give you a blanket recommendation based on a tag size. Again, the most important part is knowing the actual measurements of the clothes you own. Measure your 777, then look at the size chart. This should give you a good starting point in your search for a new pair of denim.
Here’s a visual comparison of the different cuts:
https://ironheart.co.uk/pages/cut-comparison
You should also consider at which point your 777 are too tight. Too tight in general, too slim in the thighs, too narrow on the waist, etc
-
@Luke_is_back depends on where you feel them tight on you - tight in the waist is one story, tight in the thighs is another. Tell you what - I tried 777 on and found them tight in the thighs/crotch area. I found 888 to be just what doctor prescribed for me. In both cases (777/888) tag size was the same, my regular W32
Check how 888 fits me on this forum bottom dedicated pages, there is enough pics I've posted wearing 888 -
@Yoprst @Tago-Mago Thanks for info

-
@Luke_is_back im also not Alex, but when it comes to the sizing part of your question - buy whatever size that matches the measurements of your best fitting pair currently. Though the waist will shrink 1”, it will stretch back out relatively quick.
Keep in mind you will lose 1-1.25” in the inseam, so if you get them hemmed— plan for that.
Also make sure all measurements you need line up with your best fitting pair if you need certain measurements. Sometimes you may have to size up due to have a bigger thigh compared to your waist measurement.
EDIT: my page just updated and I see you had many responses. Disregard mine if you already got your answer lol.

one left if you're quick...
