IH-634S-BLK - Black 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jean

I really wanted to post some pics that testify a bit of evo, but this denim is stubborn beyond all limits! After three full months of constant wear (and 3 washes), these jeans still appear as new! Despite this (or maybe because of this), I am still excited about these 634S-BLK, and I wear them with great pleasure.
Any case, 634S-BLK are consistent jeans, in the purest Iron heart tradition: after three washings no shrinkage at all.

Are these the same denim? I just got them off of eBay and the patch says 634S-BK, not 634S-BLK

@yannis I believe they are a Japan exclusive. Forgot to mention that was stated in the listing.

Yes if you go to Iron Heart Japan you will see them. They have the 634s and the 634bk.
About 10 years ago or so IHUK had a 666s- bk that will fade to gray but I never remember seeing a 634bk -

Thanks for posting. I picked up the last size 38w yesterday after seeing this. I didn’t even realize this denim came in 21oz jeans and it’s my first 634, so we’ll see how it goes.

At first, I was like what in the maroon are these??? they were in a plastic bag with this maroon fabric bag…phew
Really like this denim super cool, first 634. I have them soaking now. other than the leg being wider starting several inches down, they don’t seem a whole lot larger than the same size 666.

Ended up grabbing a pair of these when I visited Hachioji back in February but only recently started wearing them to work. From the (limited) history in this forum in seems like they will be a stubborn denim to fade (rope-dyed sulphur black warp?) but excited to see how they will eventually evolve. In certain lights they look almost like a deeper indigo dyed pair of jeans but given I picked up a classic 634S too I can see the contrast between them. @northsouthdenimguy your photos above with the two pairs folded captures this really well! It's not as stark as something like the SBG, though I didn't see any of those at any IH stores in visited in Japan, so I'm guessing that is an IHUK fabric?

@phoenixinflight. I don't think IHUK ever ever had this fabric. A while back was a 666bk. The reason they dont look as black as the BB or SBG or Superblack is because the weft is white or beige on those and not black. At list that is hiw they appear to me looking at the pictures. I haven't seen this fabric in person.
