@FlavourFade hi there!
Lets see, the AMUNDSEN is somewhere in thickness between the UES heavy and their extra heavy flannels. It is very soft and easy to wear immediately, it drapes nicely and is simply comfortable to wear everyday. The fabric has a nice feel and some texture to it. What I love is the unique weave of the fabric that allow you see indigo, dark navy and some white in almost like a gauze like look one of my other flannels have this look and feel. As for the blueness……I just really like the UES blues, I think it is on par with TFH indigo flannels being dark yet vibrant at the same time. I think they will both lighten nicely with age.As for the Tricotine shirt, at first it feels a bit intimidating because it is very thick twill fabric. 15.5oz if I recall! The top half around the shoulder seams, the collar, the places were several pieces are joined together is when you realize how substantial this shirt is. I won’t lie, even though others enjoy a fade lines from wearing and breaking it in before they wash, I am not that guy, this shirt oozes blue , too much blue lol! I washed mine pretty early on due to not wanting to ruin leather seats, furniture, walls with blue. What I was surprised to find is that at first you feel like the shirt wears you instead of you wearing it but that is not the case. As you wear it, it feels like body heat loosens it up nicely and it begins to hang nicely. I never feel like I’m wearing a shirt that is so stiff that it is uncomfortable but you never get away from feeling like the shirt is substantial and I mean that in the best possible way. Again it is a terrific blue that’s gonna change with time and then it dawned on me when I keep saying how much I like the UES blue it’s because I like seeing what it looks like outside and sunlight, it is a very radiant blue. At least to me. I also think both of these shirts look terrific with my Iron Heart jeans as well as my duck pants from Iron Heart. Heck you can wear either of these with anything. I see milwork recently restocked this today. You should look into it.

@jimcord thanks for your amazing description. I will receive my Tricotine today if UPS makes it(already delayed) and I’m looking forward to wear this and my 295IB in a rotation for next couple of weeks.

been wearing the tricotine now for the last 5-6 hours in the house, car and outdoor with just a tshirt beneath. pretty warm this thing and in sunlight the indigo is really cool.
the size 4 (xl) fits me pretty well I guess, almost a slim fit style.sleeve and arm openings are the critical points here. what time around can you expect first fades? -
Just curious about the indigo that UES uses. Is it natural dye or synthetic?
-
Anyone know what the recent Supreme Court ruling in the US is going to do in regards to ordering direct from UES or other foreign purchases?

@jimcord thanks a lot for the write up. A lot how I expected it but nice to see you confirm my thoughts. I was inbetween both pieces but unfortunately the tricotine is sold in the EU at most stores now. Anyway maybe I'll pick up the amundsen then and wait for the tricotine restock

@FlavourFade the Amundsen is probably the most practical. Wearing it is like a favorite familiar shirt, soft, warm, cozy. Not every day should have to feel like work to wear and break in. In case I find one…..what size are you in UES, 1,2,3,4,5?

I agree the Amundsen is probably the coziest of the UES trifecta, and I went with a size 3 on it to mix it up and make it more of an overshirt, whereas my Tricotine and Heavy Indigo are size 2.
-

Hung it up on my chair and it looks like invisible Chibs’s torso.
-
Just FYI - Redcast Heritage has the Tricotine in L, XL, and XXL in stock right now (sizes 3, 4, & 5)
-

I’ve been really enjoying these 400DK. Pockets are useful.
-
@MSav32323 glad to see I have another brother who’s part of the UES trifecta! I tried to get their indigo polo shirt, but it’s sold out in size 6 , next time!
-
5 days in the Tricotine with different layering. Today’s gonna be quiet warm for end of February with nearly 20C and wanted to see how and if my whit tee is gonna be blue in the evening

-
Almost too hot for the tricotine here in Colorado with the weather we’re having in FEBRUARY right now

-
Did you get the size 5?
Disregard I think I see where you said yours is from a previous run. I’m more than likely have somebody that has one for me in the very near future. I’m just not sure how it’s gonna fit. I don’t think the chest is more than 24.75 which depend depending on the cut may or may not work.
