The inspiration for the first Iron Heart flannel?
-
@Anesthetist just about the coolest pic I might have seen on the forum.
-
@sabergirl I THINK the only differences between them are the tags. It’s a cool shirt w a different hand than modern UHFs.
-
@Anesthetist might have another, not too dissimilar shirt to add to this little collection in the future....

-
@Ross I’m game

-
@Anesthetist I hadn't seen the original in years - I had it an one point in a size that wasn't quite right and sent it on its way. I got the rerelease in the proper size. What year was that?
-
Also remind me: isn't the hand of the old one slightly denser, more akin to a warehouse or UES unbrushed mid weight? I love the IH brushed...but I do long for them to do one, same weight, unbrushed for those of us that don't like comfort and prefer suffering in shirt and jean.
-
@StarsSuck I bought the IHSH-01 second hand so not sure the year but I think like 2009? 2010? Maybe @Giles has a better idea
-
@StarsSuck you’re right about the fabric, def more dense and feels heavier. I’ll try to get a pic later
-
@Anesthetist I can see a bit of the inside in the pic you posted. As I said, I'd love of IH did a midweight like that again: unbrushed, thinner, and dry, just like my hair.

It was a 10oz flannel rather than a 12oz, which we now use. It was then overdyed post construction to increase the density of the fabric (which we also did with the anny, but that started off as 12oz)

@Giles there were quite a few really wonderful pieces from this era as I recall, and a couple of mine are still around. There's a grey-dominant with white/blue brushed uhw that I think is from maybe 2013, and a Triple works lightweight indigo herringbone western that's possibly earlier than that. You lot started hitting homerun after homerun and I've been following the seasonal drops ever since!

These?

2009So maybe the IHSH-01 was earlier than 2010. I just went on when the thread was created, but in the early days we created threads for stuff retroactively to try and complete the story....
-
@Giles hah! Yeah that's it. IHSH-11...that was a while ago. I'm impressed it still fits as that shirt has seen me through my entire 30's and into my 40's.
-
@Giles and you know what? I misspoke. Mine is an indigo glen plaid, not the herringbone. Though I did have that shirt ages ago as well!
