Got the north face purple label corduroy down shirt and it is one of my favorite jackets during winter.

Despite being a bit to popular among people that don‘t use them in an environment the stuff is meant for, they’re actually making some good gear. And, occasionally they are even doing tuxedos.

I would certainly wear the real wool ‚fleece‘ jacket. That in white/ecru would be awesome.

I hope they make more wool fleece. Not feeling the red, though.

I have a Swedish army surplus wool fleece that was designed by Helly Hansen that’s one of the warmest and best pieces I’ve ever had. Barely wear the thing because I’m always in IH. Maybe today’s the day!

North Face are one of those brands that used to make great, functional clothing but are now selling their soul for the dollars. I know they have a few technical items in the lineup still, but it's mostly just fast fashion now.

Don’t have a lot of north face that I wear in my day to day, but all of my extreme weather and snow gear is north face. Currently using my snow bibs and huge down jacket and Montana ski gloves in this frigid cold icy nightmare that is upon Nashville right now.

I’m intrigued by the wool fleece, Matt. Makes me want one of the fancy purple label ones that are even heavier.

@chrisjohnnick hope you’re okay over there! Did y’all lose power? We got off pretty light in WNC. They got us all amped, and then not much happened. But Tennessee really got the worst of it here in our region.

@sabergirl our power went out Sunday morning at 6am. Still out now. My house it at the bottom of a big hill, too. So when it gets icy we’re just kinda stuck down there until it all melts. We stuck it out until this morning with our gas fireplace going every couple hours and cooking meals on the grill outside, but we finally just hitched a ride to an Airbnb with power and heat 10 mins away. Got to be too cold inside the house.

Every single year we get a big snow storm in mid Jan to mid Feb that shuts the roads and the city down for a few days, but usually we still have power. I work in hifi medical simulations, so when power is back up, we’re probably going to have a solid week of just resetting and recalibrating stuff. Ugh.

Anyways, yes I’m a fan of TNG for cold weather gear! We also have two North Face stores in Nashville. One at Green Hills Mall with all the fancy fashion trendy stuff, and one at the outlet mall in Opry Mills that has more of the staples and core stuff that I like better. I’ve also seen some higher end north face stuff at TJ Maxx around Oct-Dec, like $800 jackets for $150.

Dang, I’m glad to hear that you’re warm and safe now, @chrisjohnnick . Are you supposed to get any more weather this weekend?

Also, I would looove to find a TNF jacket at frickin’ TJ Maxx! I don’t really have the stomach for the place, any more. Too crowded at all times

@sabergirl we’re in decent shape. It’s cold and we’ve got about an inch or two of ice on everything but no major disruptions.

I saw some ads recently for Japan inspired TNF jackets. I’ll try to finds some pics. They looked pretty cool.

Oof that’s a lot of ice, @Matt. Glad to hear the power didn’t go out for a long time. That’s what we fear the most in these winter storms. I don’t have any alternate heat in the house.
