It stood upright like that for the whole day. But I broke the "seals" of even tougher such virgins 🤣👌

By the way, do you guys add some vinegar to the water when you soak the virgin denim for the first time?

Kind of hard to capture the color accurately on my iPhone 14 but this is after a hot soak I gave it last night, the first time I've washed or soaked it since I got it. This is from the previous run, so I've had it a couple years now, but haven't worn it too much. I've been wearing it a lot more often and it's starting to come alive.

My coupla cents regarding sizing of this jacket. My other IH jacket is 21oz (IH-526PJ) is in size L. When I saw the size chart for this IH-526L I've got some doubts regarding choosing the same L size and ended up choosing M instead. So the first water treatment of it should become the Moment of Truth. As the jacket was totally unworn I opted not to torture it in washer and just soaked it in the lukewarm water, however for about 5-6 hrs. I consider that would be enough to reasonably take shrinkage out of it. The end result after the jacket dried up totally satisfies me - it sits quite the way I like it and pretty close to how my 21oz 526PJ fits me. I think that if I'd go for L it would still have some extra room after soak and I had no slightest desire to boil it in the water for hours and spin it in the washer @ 10K rpm to get it shrunk to my preferable fit. When I find a chance to take some fit shots on me your opinion on the sizing would be much appreciated.

                  Hi all!
I’ve just soaked my 46” chest lefty for the first time in the bath at around 40 degrees for an hour,
Started off with a length of 28” and now dry I only lost half an inch off the length and arms
The chest started at 24” and has moved slightly but not much,
My question here is if I soak it again will I lose more off the chest??
I definitely want the jacket to be shorter but still do up!
                  Any advice please

@Zilaz1 the chest/shoulders are barely going to shrink. Soaking is great but the real shrinkage will come out of a wash. Wash the jacket - warm water, no spin. After it dries that’s more than likely the best you’re going to get with shrinkage. Even IH recommends soaking & washing for best shrink results. Like mentioned before though, do not expect much on the chest and shoulders. Not a dramatic amount at least.

@Zilaz1 my washing machine didn’t have a numbers option my friend it just says cold, warm or hot. I went warm. On the IH description of the jacket it says to wash it in 30Celsius/86F.

@Zilaz1 Please pre soak your jacket first and turn it inside out. After the jacket is thoroughly wetted then you can put into the washing machine to wash. This is done to prevent marbling.

@goosehd soaked it last night so was mildly damp,
Is now on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees
                              Hopefully it doesn’t marble
