I’m pretty sure everything except leather goods and wills are outsourced at this point. They do finish everything with their hardware in house before it goes out tho.
-
Anyone have the Guthrie Work Pants and can comment on their sizing? They seem cut really slim through the thigh relative to the other dimensions.
-
@jdwaid came here to ask the same question. Love the style of the guthrie but ordering a 38 feels weird to me, otherwise better safe than sorry...
-
@Denimhead-0 Thanks Brotha! I missed this!
-
@Brock yeah thats what I figured. I just wish at the very least there was a bit more of an update on the shirts. almost 2 months past the delivery date at this point with not much being said about the status
-
Were the Guthries from last Wednesday ready to ship? I’m having them hemmed to 36” which slows it down but anybody know typically how long?
-
@northsouthdenimguy just curious: what is the pre hemmed length? I did not see that in their release.
-
38”
-
@northsouthdenimguy Thank you

-
@jdwaid @FlavourFade right there with you. Nearly jumped on the pre-order train but the sizing looks way too slim. I could maybe squeeze my thunder thighs into a size 40 but it would still be tight and I'd have to get the waist taken in. Just don't really love the idea of a tailored fit, heavy waxed (even if dry) canvas pants. Feel like everything is gonna need room to breathe in that kind of a situation! Gonna pick up some RCCs instead.
-
@kojimastreets I don't even have giant thighs, just a guy doing 3-4 workouts a week and being a little heavier than I should for my height but still fit in most slim cuts. But the guthries are something else

Btw what's rcc?
-
Red Clouds Collective.
They make a waxed work pant that actually has a work pant cut. -
@hgering27 I just caught the live stream and he said they just finished up some medium/large black sashiko shirts, so hopefully it’s pretty close for all of them.
-
@denami yeah I saw that. Hoping by early February
-
@northsouthdenimguy said in Ship John:
It’s pretty soft to start, doesn’t have that crispiness that like some other denim so the sleeve “combs” might take a little bit longer.
I’m already getting some arm creases and bright blues popping thru…

-
I don’t even know how they sell any of those pants. Toothpick legged folk with beer bellies be wearing these, or everyone is just interminably uncomfortable for their status piece.
I do keep wishing they’d change up the cuts on most of their clothes, but I just got to admit SJ maybe Isn’t for me.
I’ll never forgive myself for sizing my ramblin jacket wrong.
-
Nice! Looks like I need to work harder.
-
I’m two for three with Ship John clothing. I love the pocket tees, and the Kristofferson is fantastic. But the Denim Townes was a bit off for me proportionally and just felt a little wonky in its cut. Admittedly, I’m super particular about shirts, and a lot of it comes down to how the chest fit drives everything
else.Other than one pair of 1955 16oz slubby, the 666 is my go-to denim from IH, and the Guthrie pant is kind of similar measurement-wise to the 36W 666 XHS 25oz(post soak). A 13-inch thigh is the bare minimum for me, but even then it’s still pretty fitted which I prefer over a really wide straight cut.
