Anybody have some inside info on the black Sashiko, when it might be done?
-
@northsouthdenimguy i haven’t bought one, so im not waiting for it. But just wanted to share that from my experience Mike unfortunately doesn’t give out general updates along the way.
It’s mostly answers that’s very short and no information. So he usually doesn’t say anything until it’s actual go time.
But I hope you’ll get something soon, I know you all been waiting long and it’s over due on when it was supposed to be finished.
But I guess it will be well worth it!🥰

-
i’m stoked about the release of the guthries but sorta on the fence at the same time.
i’m not sure if they will feel like overkill outside of the winter here in chicago
-
I figured as much but just thought maybe one of you all had some inside Intel…
I guess I thought you guys were cooler than you actually are
Edit:

-
@sabergirl yeah, i totally get that sentiment.
i have pretty thin legs so the SJ cuts have always been perfect for me.
-
Yeah, ideally if I could get a size 40 with a 36 waist it would proportionately make sense. Hoping the 38 is good enough, if Im able to get one.
-
@rewseph yeah the overkill thing is something that concerns me too. I do wear my ducks at really high temps, so that makes me hope I'd get at least the same amount of wear out of the Guthries as I get from my xhs and 19L.
-
@northsouthdenimguy I emailed them yesterday about the update on the sashiko and literally just got a response. There was no date or anything. they said theyre moving, "albeit slowly" I know it will be worth the wait, I love my indigo one, I am just super eager to get this shirt finally. I just have a feeling it wont be this month...
-
@northsouthdenimguy Not sure if you got the newsletter last night but it basically just said they are still moving through production. It doesn’t seem like they are close and I’m sure they’ll be worth the wait but I'm just hoping to get it by the end of February.
-
At least I won’t go home empty handed. Grabbed
me a hat that pays homeage to my favorite steel bike tubing.

-
Oh yeah, I didn’t read it… saw about the pants at the top of it and didn’t go any further.
-
I was just hoping to have it before it warms up so I can wear at least for a month or two.
-
@mecken88 the key is to use the shop app and have something else in your cart before you add whatever it is you’re trying to get.

-
@rewseph honestly I have no idea. I’ve never been able to wear SJ pants… for all the reasons previously mentioned above…
As far as the RCC I’ve worn them and they are too clammy and swampy for me. They look cool and are super durable but I’d rather wear something that’s actually comfortable -
@sabergirl said in Ship John:
The measurements on those pants are ludicrous
This! From day one with all SJ pants

-
@GraemeE never!!!

-
@Brock i agree on the RCC pants, they’re great in the winter with a base player between your legs and the canvas because the pants freeze lol but anything above 50 F and it’s definitely swampy feeling.
i just keep wondering if the dry wax makes a difference with that and more tolerable throughout the year. i think i may pass on these though, even though they look awesome l
-
yeah I have to say I agree with the general sentiment... the pants are dope, but the waist to thigh sizing ratio is pretty absurd. The Levon thermal henley on the other hand looks great
