When I started working with Haraki, none of jeans had the belt loops sewn into the waistband. I specified them on all jeans I initiated, but the IH-634S was obviously not one of them. It took a few years to transition to sewn in belt loops on the 634 cut.
This pair has only the back belt loop tucked under. I imagine Haraki did this because he wore a belt whilst on the bike (?)

First time posting! I have 18 oz jeans and was thinking about stepping up to 21 oz. Is it a major step up? Will I fell like the tin man? Thanks in advance.

21oz is as soft as an avocado hair booster.

@meyer1son 21oz is very soft and continues to get softer with wear. They have been described as sweatpants-esque soft with time.

Fit check! They feel snug but my last pair stretched so much they barely fit

Can anyone recommend how I can fix the tear on the hem of my 634's? I loved this denim so much that I have been wearing this consistently for the whole last year. Not a single day missed and the result of it is that the hem on the right hand side is tearing apart.

Howdy all!
Nearing 100 wears on my 21 oz 634’s. Been noticing a lot of this streaky fading in the back of the crotch. Not sure if this means they are too snug (the thighs and top block are quite roomy) or if this is just a result of how the fabric bunches when walking/sitting/etc.
Any reason to be worried?

I don't see anything that causes concern. All of mine get that to various degree. Is just friction when sitting or maybe swearing and friction. Structurally I dont see anything bad

@yannis appreciate the input! Unfortunately somebody had commented on my fade pictures and planted a seed of doubt in my mind. Saying that from the pictures (of just the pants flat) they seem “too small in the top block” when really I find the top block roomier than my 14 oz 634’s or my 19 oz Samurai jeans. I think it’s just the way the fabric folds around my thighs with certain movements and positions. The curse of thick thighs— the waist first perfectly, but for a straight cut they look slim on my frame haha.

@hellohello The person who told you that knows zippo. Some people physiology means that the thighs rub together when walking, it is the denim rubbing against itself which which causes those fades. It is exacerbated with thicker denims. I have puny thighs, does not happen to my jeans....
