About a year of heavy use. Twice washed to get it started, it’s due for a third. I absolutely LOVE this hat! It really makes me want the shirt now…

-
Finally wore my hat for the first time, I forget how long ago it was released, maybe a year or so?
Also, got a little package of goodies from SJ today

-
@northsouthdenimguy Nice little brass pickup there!
The hats came out a little over one year ago. I think end of August? To my memory.
-
I knew it had been a while
I put it in boiling water upside down a couple times to shrink it a bit and just never wore it… I’m really starting to like it. Wore it all day yesterday and wearing it today. -
@northsouthdenimguy It’s a bit warm in summer, great for this time of year.
-
@mecken88 I have one of the V1 broken twill Ramblin jackets and it’s my all time favorite SJ piece (along with my Sashiko Townes shirt). Mike at SJ describes the Ramblin as their version of the traditional trucker jacket in terms of fit and general proportions. The thing I like the most is the completely unique pocket layout.
-
@SilentMikal ah that’s cool! I hope to own the denim version too some day

I actually own the waxed version and it’s one of my favorite jacket! And yes the pocket layout it’s such a unique and awesome idea for sure! Like mixing a trucker with a chore coat, best of both worlds all in my great package!
Hoping it will be released again, iv heard Mike has said it will. Even that it would have been this year. But that’s a few months ago and haven’t heard anything new about it. So I check in, keeping my eye alert and hoping it’s on the horizon

-
@GraemeE What was your method?
-
@Danimal506 that's the question indeed
I don't have one figured out yet
To date I have just soaked it a few times to get rid of surface dirt
-
@GraemeE Interesting how it ended up that color. My plan for washing was a soak with light detergent and a light scrub.
-
Looks like i foretold my own fate a while back
-
@GraemeE Hahaha Called it!
-
@GraemeE
put it in a gallon ziplock bag, run some water in, put a tiny dab of whatever soap/detergent you want, zip it tight with a little air inside, and shake the hell out it.
pop the zip open a little, pour the dirty water out, run some clean water in, zip it back up and shake the hell out of it, rinse and repeat until the water being drained is running cleanthat’s what I’ve done with my hats in the past, it’s easy as all get out and works fine for me
-
@GraemeE may sound crazy, but the dishwasher works great for cleaning hats. Otherwise I just thoroughly use the kitchen sink sprayer.
-
@SourPower I like this idea, do you put laundry detergent in or just a regular dishwasher tab?
-
I've done it, and just used a dishwasher tab. I used one of these hat cleaning frames to keep the shape. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/389167147695?_skw=hat+washer&itmmeta=01KBPQSBDZY9XFKDZR3J2KS239&hash=item5a9c2b6aaf:g:jvgAAeSwKJxpBJvo&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4IUNi59bckQcV2ImusJGAkFLXyr21Q8uWm7IEVoKS%2FGuyXd4Df1BPj3s7NkVXQ7zZySreSLy2Cqkh3XBaFN%2BEWH9UFN3E4YA1CqNoVtSll%2BfI0tIWEzl95XvG82cL2vZNlWbZG%2FirYuMz9d11Va0g7jlkR7LITfbvPgvtyLBOU4E6vrM1JhbCRaO6UL821I1%2BPSFIoJomXHrvz2aWEJbr5kRoClRLpYy62NONHkrz4ckCT9t9DZ6fRT0J1FkLBrO1HjRNdtfqak0B0siivxVcAJCOHBkOadCm%2BtUT8cAbsNq|tkp%3ABk9SR6K35dfdZg
