Anne, I do not think it looks too long, what does it look like un-snapped?
Mine looks about the same, I always wear it un-snapped... and deerskin has the ability to stretch, making it more and more comfortable with weartime... oh wait that's like denim does!

After cold soaking mine (it was filthy...see a few dozen posts earlier in this thread) it shrunk considerably in the chest. It is nearly too tight in the chest to wear buttoned but still fits well every where else. It looks better unbuttoned and I tend to only wear it this way. I have tried to gently stretch the chest area by the pockets but have not been successful.
@Chap do you wear yours unsnapped always because of the fit? Or does it just look better to you that way?

Mine is a sample shirt in large while I am usually XL in Western shirts. It is therefore a bit thight. Sleeve length on the other hand is already more then I would prefer so sizing up is no option for me. I can wear it buttend up, but often just prefer wearing it unbuttend easpecially during warm temperatures. Stretch will only come with wear and weartime and in areas where the leather is put under pressure. We see that at the backsides of Lederhosen for example or ellbow areas of shirts. I think it will stretch around the chest too but would expect lots of weartime. I know everyone says it could be washed and it is correct, it is a leather that tolerates water but nevertheless water has an impact and I have seen shrinkage with mine too. I would always try to avoid washing and try to clean off dirt with a brush. That should be done with care too as the natural dye is applied on the surface and can be removed with aggressive brushing or rubbing leaving lighter coloured areas.

just picked this up. feels a bit 'thin', does anyone have the thickness spec in mm or oz for this?
fit is perfect, this would be in my regular rotation. so far liking it.
keeping this lint free with cats in the house is going to be a challenge.
yer not kiddin about the softness, i feel like george costanza ova here

@hillbilly The hides used for the Big Buck are approximately 1.5–2 mm thick, although this may vary slightly depending on the animal it came from. It may also feel thinner than other leathers due to the softness of the deerskin. Hope that helps, glad you like it!
